Caoimhin Kelleher Next Club Odds: Forest Lead Brentford & Celtic For Reds Keeper

Caoimhin Kelleher’s Liverpool future is in grave doubt and the best betting sites are now offering a market on where he will end up next.

Kelleher has had to remain patient for opportunites since moving to Anfield, with Alisson Becker firmly established as the No.1 goalkeeper under Jurgen Klopp and now Arne Slot.

Liverpool then added Giorgi Mamardashvili to the ranks in the summer, suggesting they see the Georgia international as the long-term successor to Alisson. In response, Kelleher has revealed he asked to leave.

“The club made the decision to get another goalkeeper. From the outside looking in, it looks like they have made a decision to go in another direction,” he said.

“My ambition has always been clear the last few seasons that I want to be a No.1. It has been reported that Liverpool had rejected a few bids as well.

"It is not always in my hands to make the decision. My ambition is to prove I am good enough to play week in, week out.”

Where will Kelleher go next? Let’s take a look at the odds offered by betting apps.

Forest Have Shown Interest Before

Nottingham Forest made more than one offer for Kelleher in the summer, so it is no surprise that new betting sites make them the 6/5 favourites in this market.

A move to Forest would no doubt appeal to the goakeeper too: he would get first-team football at Premier League level, assuming Nuno Espirito Santo’s side do not go down.

Matz Sels is the incumbent at the City Ground, but he always felt like a stopgap choice. Forest are actively looking to upgrade on the former Newcastle United man and they are likely to go back in for Kelleher.

Brentford May Need New Goalkeeper

Brentford are second on the list at 2/1. Mark Flekken is the man between the sticks for the Bees, who signed him to replace David Raya in 2023.

The jury is still out on Flekken, though, and the fact he is 31 years of age means Brentford may be looking to replace him sooner rather than later.

Like Nottingham Forest, much will depend on whether Brentford are still a Premier League club next summer, when a move is most likely.

For now, Thomas Frank’s team are right up there among the leading contenders for Kelleher’s signature.

Younger Shot-Stopper Could Help Celtic

Joe Hart called time on his playing career at the end of last season, hanging up his gloves after helping Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title.

Kasper Schmeichel was brought in as his replacement, with Brendan Rodgers opting for another experienced shot-stopper.

But Schmeichel is 37 years old and he will not be at Parkhead for the long term. Kelleher, a Republic of Ireland international, would be an attractive choice to take the No.1 jersey over several seasons. Celtic are priced at 5/2 with football betting sites

Bournemouth Would Make Sense Stylistically

Having spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, Kepa Arrizabalaga joined Bournemouth on loan over the summer.

Nothing has been decided yet, but the Spaniard probably sees this as an opportunity to put himself back in the shop window with a view to moving back higher up the food chain.

If Kepa does only stay for a year, Bournemouth will need a new goalkeeper ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Kelleher is excellent with the ball at his feet, a must for anyone hoping to play between the posts for Andoni Iraola’s team.

He also has experience of the Premier League. The Irishman is offered at 3/1 to move to the south coast.

A Chelsea purchase can never be ruled out

Chelsea are another club without a settled No.1. It is clear that Robert Sanchez is the first choice of Enzo Maresca for now, but the club will almost certainly be looking to improve on the Spaniard in an upcoming transfer window.

If Kelleher is available, which it looks like he will be, it would not be a surprise to see Chelsea enter the race.

Many will therefore view odds of 9/2 as appealing, especially for those who like to use their free bet offers, but there is of course the fact that Liverpool may be more reluctant to sell to Chelsea than to a team like Brentford, Nottingham Forest or Bournemouth.
