The inaugural Celebrity Traitors series has been much talked about, and filming is due to get under way in April.

However, star siblings Daisy May and Charlie Cooper, who had been 4/7 second favourites on betting sites to take part in the show, are said to have given up their spots due to scheduling.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Daisy May and Charlie were so excited about taking part but once the demands of the show became clear, Daisy had to sadly accept it would be tough as a mum-of-three."

It's a blow for the show, but one star has all but confirmed he will be heading to Scotland's Ardross Castle in a couple of months.

Fry Avoids Firing

Stephen Fry is into 1/3 favourite on betting apps to take part in the programme, from 8/11, after joking that the BBC would chop off his private parts if he did confirm he has signed up.

Speaking recently to Metro, he said: "I can say that the BBC would slice off my testicles if I were to comment publicly on the possibility of such a thing as dwelling in a castle in Scotland for a week or two - or indeed for a day or two, quite likely.

"I would be fired in the driveway, which is the thing they sometimes do, isn’t it, before you even get there, if you say the wrong thing?"

Fry is clearly a huge fan of the Claudia Winkleman-fronted civilian version of the BBC show.

Dubbed the "ultimate game of deception", The Traitors' contestants are split into groups of Faithful and Traitors, and the aim of the game is for the group of Faithful to work out who the Traitors are.

Each night, the Traitors are able to "murder" one of the Faithful, but beforehand the whole group meet in roundtable banishments to send one of their co-stars home - with the majority hoping they axe a Traitor rather than a Faithful.

Other stars expected to take part in the first-ever celebrity version include former EastEnders actor Danny Dyer (4/9), TV presenter Clare Balding (4/6) and retired Olympian Tom Daley (Evens).

Clarks In The Castle

Daisy May and Charlie are still 25/1 outsiders to take part in Celebrity Traitors, in case they make a U-turn, while Andy and Judy Murray, who the This Country stars are said to have replaced on the show, are 33/1.

The first three series of The Traitors have all featured a related duo - and the BBC are still keen to have one in the star-studded version.

A source told The Sun: "The BBC will hope to sign another duo as it adds so brilliantly to the psychology of the game but time is ticking and finding two celebrities with time in their diaries - or the willingness to cancel other plans - could be tough."

If the BBC want to inject some comedy into the castle then Rylan Clark and his mum Linda - who have the nation chuckling during their Celebrity Gogglebox appearances - could be one pair to consider.

The mother and son duo are 5/2, while Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp and his TV presenter son Roman Kemp are 13/2.

Hell's Castle

He's known for fronting the likes of Hell's Kitchen, but could Celebrity Traitors turn into Hell's Castle for Gordon Ramsay?

With the BBC in need of a related duo for the new series, the celebrity chef and his daughter Tilly Ramsay could be the ideal candidates.

Tilly is well known at the BBC after previously competing on Strictly Come Dancing.

The pair are 5/1 to take part in Celebrity Traitors, while Strictly host Tess Daly and her husband Vernon Kay are 4/1

The TV presenters have previously been linked with the programme, as have Victoria Coren and David Mitchell (6/1), and Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley, who is 8/1.

Mandy Dingle star Lisa recently issued a come-and-get-me plea to BBC bosses to sign her up for the series.

She took to Instagram to share a picture of herself dressed in a hoody, which looked like one of the cloaks worn by the Traitors.

She wrote: "Yes...Yes and Yes again to all your questions....i would love to do CELEBRITY TRAITORS...I would be absolutely shot though, I would truly be laughing and giggling all the time. I would just love the experience (sic)"
