Liverpool vs Ajax, Tuesday, 8pm

The postponement of last weekend’s Premier League games may have provided out-of-sorts Liverpool with some much-needed respite, but after their 4-1 thumping at Napoli last time out they will not be looking forward to a visit from a rampant Ajax side.

The Dutch champions have scored 21 goals in the league this season, conceding just three, and they carried that form into the Champions League by battering Rangers 4-0 in the opening gameweek. On average, they’re having 15 shots per game and scoring 3.5 goals each outing.

If Jurgen Klopp has not adequately addressed his team’s defensive frailties, Ajax could run amok at Anfield.

The first goal will be crucial, but Liverpool have been losing at half-time in two of their three home games so far this season, making Ajax the more appealing punt on betting sites on who will break the deadlock.

Tip: Ajax to score first - 15/8 with bet365

Bayern Munich vs Barcelona, Tuesday, 8pm

Just nine months on from last season’s UEFA Champions League group stage game when Bayern Munich condemned Barcelona to a first group stage exit from the tournament since 2000/01, the German champions will now seek to assert their dominance yet again.

The big storyline in this fixture is Robert Lewandowski’s swift return to the Allianz Arena following his move to Barca, and he has already been amongst the goals for the Spanish giants so far.

This is not a fixture the visitors will be looking forward to having lost their last two encounters 3-0 to Bayern, and also an 8-2 humiliation in the 2020 Champions League quarter-final will never be far from their thoughts prior to playing the German juggernaut.

Football betting sites believe Bayern should have too much for Barca and a shade of odds on in a home tie makes plenty of appeal for them to make it four wins on the spin against the Catalans.

Tip: Bayern Munich to win - 10/11 with William Hill

Marseille vs Eintracht Frankfurt, Tuesday 8pm

Both of these sides may have lost their respective opening games in Europe this season, but there is no doubting which one of them looked more capable at this level.

Marseille bravely battled to keep Tottenham out having had to play much of the second half with 10 men after Chancel Mbemba was sent off, only to finally succumb to a Richarlison-inspired 2-0 defeat

For their part, Eintracht Frankfurt utterly capitulated at home on matchday one, as Sporting stormed to an easy 3-0 success and they followed that by losing 1-0 to Wolfsburg at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Marseille kept up their title hopes in Ligue 1 on Saturday by beating Lille, staying undefeated domestically in the process.

Igor Tudor’s men have won every game at the Orange Vélodrome so far this term and have also secured three clean sheets in their last five matches.

Don’t be surprised to see the French side hold the visitors blank while they secure three valuable points on Tuesday.

Tip: Marseille To Win To Nil - 13/5 with BetVictor
