Coronation Street/Emmerdale Crossover Odds: Carla Connor To Meet Charity Dingle?

ITV has made an exciting announcement for Coronation Street and Emmerdale superfans - they are making a crossover episode of the two soaps.
The special hour-long episode will see characters from both soaps come together in a celebration of the soap genre.
The episode will air in the run-up to ITV reducing each show's content by 30 minutes a week from January 2026.
ITV will broadcast a power hour of soaps from the new year, with Emmerdale airing at 8pm each weekday evening followed by Corrie at 8.30pm.
Before that, characters will come together for a crossover episode in the self-contained episode, and afterwards they will return to their usual Manchester and Yorkshire homes.
The channel said: "In an extra treat for the viewers, the producers of both programmes are inviting the audience to choose which two characters, one from each soap, they would like to see meet and interact in a scene."
Further details will become clear on the two shows' social media channels next month.
While some have been speculating on the best betting sites about the crossover episode, there's been a mixed reaction from fans of the two soaps.
Many are questioning how the crossover will be portrayed, and some have even asked why it's necessary.
But others are surprised such an event hasn't happened already between the two soaps, and are excited about what is to come.
ITV are no strangers to a crossover. The channel aired three crossover episodes in 2004 when Noughties favourites Bad Girls and Footballers' Wives had their worlds intertwined.
Footballers' Wives character Tanya Turner (Zoe Lucker) was jailed in Bad Girls' Larkhall Prison.
Soap fans have gone into suggestions overdrive about just what might happen in the Corrie/ Emmerdale crossover.
Ideas floating around have included a Corrie family going on a weekend away to the Yorkshire Dales, one of the Dales locals having a business opportunity in Coronation Street, or even a bus full of Corrie characters and a separate bus full of Emmerdale characters colliding.
ITV have confirmed there will be an "ambitious stunt" in the crossover episode that will have "everlasting consequences for everyone involved".
Could Carla Connor Meet Charity Dingle?
The channel are yet to confirm how fans will vote for which two characters, one from each soap, they would like to see interact in the crossover episode.
One of the most popular dream Corrie and Emmerdale match-ups is Corrie's Carla Connor, played by Alison King, and Emmerdale's Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).
It would be a genius soap move if two of the strongest, outspoken and no-nonsense ladies in serial drama history were pitted against one another in the crossover episode.
Coronation Street & Emmerdale Crossover Odds: Which Characters Will Interact
Characters | Odds | Probability |
Carla Connor & Charity Dingle | 11/8 | 42.1% |
Kirk Sutherland & Sam Dingle | 6/4 | 40% |
Carla Connor & Kim Tate | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Ken Barlow & Eric Pollard | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Cain Dingle & Gary Windass | 3/1 | 25% |
Tracy Barlow & Charity Dingle | 7/2 | 22.2% |
Lisa Swain & Vanessa Woodfield | 4/1 | 20% |
Steve McDonald & Jai Sharma | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Nick Tilsley & Kim Tate | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Danielle Silverton & Jacob Gallagher | 10/1 | 9.1% |
It's 11/8 on betting apps that it happens, and 2/1 for Carla to meet up with Kim Tate (Claire King). Perhaps a Yorkshire-Manchester business deal could be in the offing?
Another popular match-up could see Corrie's Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) and Dales legend Sam Dingle (James Hooton) join forces and they are 6/4 to meet.
Corrie and Emmerdale superfans are also keen for Weatherfield policewoman Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) to come face-to-face with Dales vet Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), after viewers pointed out the pair could be sisters because they look so alike.
Corrie And Emmerdale Veterans
But the old school fans of Coronation Street and Emmerdale might prefer some of the elder statesmen of the two parishes to join forces.
It would be a lovely piece of soap legend if Ken Barlow (Bill Roache) was to share a scene with Emmerdale veteran Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell).
Odds of 5/2 are available for the pair to team up, but it's almost as likely for Corrie and Emmerdale bad boys to share a scene.
Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) are 3/1 to come face-to-face.
It also wouldn't be a huge surprise if Corrie's Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) was to run into Emmerdale's Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson).
The pair could talk about how he looks the spitting image of his former pal Vikram Desai, the cobbles character played by Chris from 1999 to 2002.
Steve and Jai are 6/1 to bump into one another in the crossover episode and a similar thing could happen between Corrie's Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Dales matriarch Kim Tate.
Claire and Ben had an on-screen romance on the cobbles when their characters Erica Holroyd and Nick hooked up.
It's 8/1 they reunite from separate soaps in the special episode.
Natalie Anderson's new Corrie character Danielle Silverton is 10/1 to meet up with Emmerdale's Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren-Plant), after Natalie played Joe's mother Alicia Gallagher in the Dales.
Current Emmerdale star Oliver Farnworth portrays John Sugden in the Dales and previously appeared as Corrie's Andy Carver, but the character was killed off by evil Pat Phelan.
Gail's Woolpack Wine?
Former Emmerdale actress Natalie recently rocking up in Corrie could have almost been a hint of things to come for the crossover episode.
Could we see Gail Platt sipping a glass of wine in the Woolpack? Or could ex-Dales character Bernice Blackstock land a job at Underworld?
Both seem unlikely at 5/1 and 6/1 respectively, but perhaps someone who has graced both soaps could make a return for the hour-long special?
Denise Welch is 13/8 for a crossover episode comeback. Denise portrayed Corrie's Natalie Barnes from 1997 and 2000 and then turned up in Emmerdale as a juror named Heidi late last year.
Coronation Street & Emmerdale Crossover Odds: Returning Characters
Character | Odds | Probability |
Denise Welch | 13/8 | 38.1% |
Joe Gilgun | 7/4 | 36.4% |
Sherrie Hewson | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Beverley Callard | 3/1 | 25% |
Ian Kelsey | 7/2 | 22.2% |
Gaynor Faye | 4/1 | 20% |
Gail Platt | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Bernice Blackstone | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Fiona Wade | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Bill Ward | 10/1 | 9.1% |
Heidi was a key character in Belle Dingle's trial against her abusive husband Tom, as Heidi fought for Belle to be believed.
Another star who has appeared in both Corrie and Emmerdale is Brassic's Joe Gilgun.
He is 7/4 to return in the crossover episode, after he previously portrayed Emmerdale's Eli Dingle and Corrie's Jamie Armstrong.
Beverley Callard is no stranger to a soap crossover.
She starred in a comical Corrie-EastEnders skit for Children in Need, entitled East Street, when her character Liz McDonald was revealed to be the real mother of EastEnders' Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace).
Some cobbles superfans recently called for Bev to make a Corrie return, and she is 3/1 to make a comeback in the special crossover episode, while Bill Ward is a 10/1 longshot.
The actor's Corrie and Emmerdale characters, Charlie Stubbs and James Barton, were both killed off, so it would be a stretch. But could he make a return as a completely new character?
We know anything can happen in Soapland.
