Coronation Street Odds: Helen Flanagan Cut For Cobbles Comeback

The Coronation Street exits continued in March as Colson Smith filmed his final scenes, and Marc Baylis' cameo is also thought to be over.

Marc's final scenes as escaped inmate Rob Donovan aired earlier this week, and the character was 4/9 on betting sites to be the next to leave Weatherfield permanently.

Rob is set for an extended prison sentence after taking his sister Carla Connor's (Alison King) girlfriend Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) hostage.

If that wasn't enough, his gun went off when Lisa was holding it, and the bullet hit her daughter Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin).

While Rob nearly had a hand in bumping off one of the Street's brightest talents, actor Colson also did some shooting - of his final scenes.

And he also left with a bang, when he accidentally left a parting gift for fans.

He took to Instagram to thank Corrie viewers for their support over the years, and shared a picture of himself sitting on top of the Rovers Return pub.

However, some eagle-eyed viewers spotted a for sale sign attached the pub, meaning the iconic boozer looks set to go on the market in the next six or so weeks, as the soap is shot in advance.

But could this lead to another character exit?

Jenny And David To Leave Weatherfield?

Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) is into 8/11 favourite on betting apps to leave Corrie next, from 4/1, after it was confirmed the Rovers is going up for sale in the coming weeks.

She and her step-daughter Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) are the current owners of the Rovers, but they bought it with money stolen from Carla by Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce), meaning the knicker factory boss claims ownership of the watering hole.

Spoiler alert - Jenny is to come into a windfall of £60,000 after an investment made by Daisy's dad years ago, but it doesn't look like she will use the money to buy the boozer if it's going up for sale.

It's known that Daisy is leaving Weatherfield, and it was recently claimed she will do so in the back of a taxi.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "No-one ever wants to leave in the back of a cab but that’s exactly what’s happening with Charlotte.

"They’re not killing her off but she leaves after burning all her bridges with step-mum Jenny Bradley."

With Jenny and Daisy set to fall out, and Daisy subsequently fleeing Coronation Street, where will this leave Jenny?

It wouldn't be a huge shock to see her follow Daisy out of Weatherfield.

What's more, David Platt has had a tough time of late, due to him owing gangster Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) a fortune.

Off screen, there is strong speculation that Jack P Shepherd, who has played David for 25 years, is to appear in the new Celebrity Big Brother series.

His pal and former Corrie co-star Colson did just that last year, and he's now filmed his final scenes on the cobbles.

Could history repeat for Jack? It's just Evens that he is next to scoot off the Street.

Helen Sweet On Rosie Return

On the other side of Corrie's revolving door could be Helen Flanagan's character Rosie Webster.

The actress has been cut to just 1/2 for a Corrie comeback, from 4/7, after admitting once again she would be up for a Weatherfield return after moving back up north.

She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "I'd love to see Rosie come back as a single mum, having just left her partner.

"She'd dump her two kids with Sally and I think she would be an iconic barmaid at the Rovers Return. Especially as I am living up north again now."

What's more, Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) and Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) are new entries in the Corrie comeback market, following speculation one of the characters could buy the Rovers next.

While Emma is an outsider to fork out on Corrie's hotpot HQ and a 4/1 shot to make a Weatherfield return from Australia, Michelle, who hasn't been seen on the cobbles since 2019, is just 4/5 to be the next character back on the Street.

Ryan's Cobbles Comeback

However, Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) is no longer part of the market, after it was confirmed he is returning to Corrie following a nine-year absence.

Ryan is heading back for a short stint to tie in with his on-screen mum Sue Cleaver's exit story as Eileen Grimshaw.

It was recently reported that Corrie bosses were keen for him to make his comeback a permanent one.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Ryan's return has been on the cards for a while.

"There were hopes he would come back on a more permanent basis, but it’ll always be dependent on whether Ryan wants to go back or not."

However, a Corrie spokesperson added to the publication: "Ryan has come back to the show for a guest appearance in Eileen's departure storyline and we have enjoyed having him back on set.

"However there have been no further discussions about him returning in the future."

If Ryan did make a permanent return it would certainly please some of the soap's viewers.
