Coronation Street Odds: Suranne Jones Frontrunner For 'Fun' Cobbles Comeback

Coronation Street's revolving door of 2025 has continued to move quickly, after the betting sites favourite to depart next confirmed her exit.
Sally Ann Matthews, who was 8/13 to be the next star to reveal her Weatherfield farewell, is exiting her role as Jenny Connor.
The Corrie legend - who first appeared in the ITV soap in 1986, before returning for further stints - wrote on Instagram: "I was supposed to stay for five months but ended up doing an extra 10 years because I loved it so much!
"It’s time though to play those parts I always hoped I would when I’d ’grown up.’ Thanks Trafford Wharf Rd for the memories and endless laughter x (sic)."
Catherine Tyldesley has taken to Instagram to confirm her cobbles comeback as Eva Price - and her alter-ego will be the new owner of the Rovers Return.
She wrote on Instagram: "Hello Weatherfield!"
Catherine posted a picture outside the Rovers alongside two newcomers - Shameless actor Aaron McCusker, who will play Eva's partner Ben Driscoll, and legendary Father Ted star Pauline McLynn, who has joined Corrie as Ben's interfering mother Maggie.
But who else might be returning to the soap?

Karen Vs Liz Again
Corrie fans have been excited to hear of Eva's return, but they would be salivating if Karen McDonald was to head back to the cobbles.
Suranne Jones portrayed the character from 2000 to 2004, before going on to make a huge name for herself in the likes of Doctor Foster, Scott & Bailey and Gentleman Jack.
But the former Corrie star has sparked huge speculation she could be set to reprise her role as Karen, after admitting she would be up for a Rovers Return.

She told The Times newspaper: "If they asked, ‘Would you come and do an episode of Coronation Street?’ I’d say, 'Why not?'"
Suranne admitted there was no way she would have considered a Corrie comeback a couple of years after Karen - who was married to Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) - left Weatherfield.
Ahead of her departure, Karen torched Tracy Barlow's new car, but Suranne has now changed her mind and thinks it could be "fun" to revisit the no-nonsense character.
She added to the publication: "If you had asked me two years after I left the show, I’d have said, 'Absolutely not. I’m going to do all these things.' But now it’s 21 years ago, it might be fun."
Following her comments, Suranne is the new 1/2 favourite on betting apps to return to Corrie.
And there could soon be some huge fireworks in Weatherfield if Karen returns alongside her former mother-in-law Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard).
Bev is 8/15 second favourite to head back to the cobbles.
She recently sparked speculation about a return after she was roped into working behind the bar - just as her cobbles character did on and off from 1989 to 2020 - of her local boozer, the Cross Keys in Dilham, Norfolk.

Daisy's U-Turn?
Christina Boyd was a 4/7 shot to return to the cobbles.
However, she is no longer part of the market after Amy Robbins - who portrays the character - was spotted filming scenes on Manchester's Canal Street, alongside a number of other characters including Mary Taylor, Sean Tully, Glenda Shuttleworth and Todd Grimshaw.
But could this spark a return for someone who has only recently left the cobbles?
Christina is the mother of Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), who was last seen leaving Weatherfield in May.
However, with her on-screen mother set to make a Corrie comeback, could Charlotte do the same?
She is 9/4 for a shock return, which could just be a short cameo that she could have even filmed before her exit.
Charlotte appeared to leave on good terms, admitting she would "always cherish" her time on the cobbles.
She previously said in a statement: "My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish.
"After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities.
"It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much."
It wouldn't be the first time a character has left only to return months later.
Claire's Corrie Boost
Claire Sweeney's Corrie alter-ego Cassie Plummer had looked to be one of the characters in contention to leave Weatherfield permanently next.
If you drug and steal from Weatherfield icon Ken Barlow (Bill Roache) then your days are normally numbered.
However, Claire recently confirmed she will be on the cobbles for a while yet after putting pen to paper on a new Corrie contract.
She recently told Woman's Weekly magazine: "To be there for another year, I felt honoured and absolutely thrilled. I just love the job and I have been very lucky with my storylines as well.
"From going in as the druggie, doing heavy, dramatic stuff with Maureen Lipman, then doing nice light comedy stuff with Simon Gregson and catty stuff with Kate Ford. It's great, brilliantly written stuff."
As a result, Cassie's price to be the next character to leave permanently has been boosted from 2/1 to a massive 10/1.
Alya Nazir (Sair Khan), who recently waved a Weatherfield goodbye to her grandmother Yasmeen Nazir, remains Evens favourite to exit the cobbles next, and couple Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) and Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell) are 5/4 joint-second favourites.
