Dani Olmo Next Club Odds: Man City Favourites To Sign Spain Star

Barcelona are sweating on the future of Dani Olmo, with UK betting sites opening a market on where the Spain international might end up next.

Barca signed Olmo from RB Leipzig last summer after the attacking midfielder starred in his country’s triumph at the European Championship.

Because of their financial issues, Barcelona were only able to temporarily register the Spaniard until January, at which point La Liga rules stated they would only be permitted to play Olmo if they had reduced their wage bill.

The saga took another twist on Wednesday when the Spanish national sports council gave Barcelona permission to temporarily register Olmo and Pau Victor once more, but that ruling may only last for a few weeks.

Therefore, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Olmo leaves Barcelona this month. The player cannot be happy with the situation, but where do the bookmakers think he could go?

Manchester City Seeking Reinforcements

After an astonishing collapse in form, Manchester City are looking to get back on track.

The Premier League champions are aiming to sign reinforcements this month, with Stuttgart forward Omar Marmoush and Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov thought to be on their radar.

Besides Marmoush, another attacking player would not go amiss.

Phil Foden has been below par this season, while Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva are arguably past their best.

Olmo would be a fantastic addition to Pep Guardiola’s squad and you can get odds of 4/1 on him moving to the Etihad Stadium.

Bayern Could Bring Olmo Back To Germany

Before moving to Barcelona last summer, Olmo had never played professional football in Spain.

He began his senior career at Dinamo Zagreb, before spending four-and-a-half years in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.

Olmo has good memories of Germany and he could move back there soon, with Bayern Munich priced at 6/1 with betting apps.

Vincent Kompany’s squad already contains plenty of attacking talent, but Jamal Musiala’s future is uncertain and Olmo could be a potential replacement. Moreover, moving from Barcelona to Bayern is not really a step down.

PSG Need To Add Proven Quality

Paris Saint-Germain may be in a commanding position in Ligue 1, but their season is in danger of petering out unless they can avoid an early elimination from the Champions League.

After the Galactico period at the Parc des Princes, PSG have since adopted a more sensible approach to recruitment, but in truth their squad could do with more quality.

Olmo would certainly provide that. Luis Enrique, a fellow Spaniard, is an admirer of the 26-year-old forward, with PSG available at 10/1 to land him.

Ligue 1 is not as appealing as La Liga or even the Bundesliga, though.

Chelsea Never Shy To Splash The Cash

Chelsea have spent an incredible amount of money over the last few years and they will doubtless have to slow down at some point.

Having said that, recent history suggests that if the opportunity to sign Olmo came up before the end of January, Chelsea would be among the interested parties.

Enzo Maresca has numerous attackers at his disposal, but he does not seem to be convinced by some of them.

Olmo’s versatility is an asset, though, and he is 12/1 to end up at Stamford Bridge.

Saudi Arabia Move Looks Improbable

Clubs in Saudi Arabia were not quite as active in the summer of 2024 as they were the year before, but the country’s government has a long-term sporting vision and we will see more superstars head to the Pro League in the coming years.

It is doubtful whether Olmo will be playing in Saudi Arabia any time soon, though.

Still only 26, the Spain international would surely prefer to keep playing at the highest level in Europe for a few more years at least.

Nevertheless, a Saudi switch is available at 12/1 with football betting sites.

Liverpool Have Money To Spend

Liverpool only signed Federico Chiesa for an initial £10 million in the summer, but their lack of transfer activity has not done them any harm.

However, after a disappointing week which began with a 2-2 draw with Manchester United and continued with a 1-0 defeat at Tottenham in the Carabao Cup, Arne Slot might be pushing for an addition or two in January.

Olmo would provide Liverpool with another top-class option in the final third, yet odds of 16/1 suggest this one looks like a long shot as things stand.
