Daniel Dubois Vs Joseph Parker Betting Tips: Three Predictions From The Panel

Britain's Daniel Dubois will defend his IBF heavyweight title against Joseph Parker on Saturday as part of an incredible card in Saudi Arabia which includes a mouthwatering rematch between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.

Dubois is the 4/9 favourite with betting sites to retain his belt by defeating the 33-year-old New Zealander, the 9/4 underdog.

It promises to be an attritional night in Riyadh and The Panel have picked out a few Dubois vs Parker betting tips ahead of the big fight.

The Panel's Dubois Vs Parker Betting Tips: Saturday, February 22:

Dubois Vs Parker Betting Tips: Brit Looks A Knockout

Dubois has a 22-2 record as a pro, with his only defeats coming against Joe Joyce in 2020 and then Oleksandr Usyk almost three years later, both by knockout.

The 27-year-old Londoner has taken some notable scalps recently, defeating the previously unbeaten Filip Hrgovic by TKO last summer to win the inaugural IBF interim title.

He retained his belt three months later by sending Anthony Joshua to the canvas three times before knocking out his fellow Brit in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium.

Parker has won 35 of his 38 bouts, losing back-to-back fights with Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte by unanimous decision in 2018, but in 2022 he was knocked out for the first time in his career by Joyce, who had beaten Dubois two years earlier.

The Kiwi has saved his best until last though, becoming only the second boxer to defeat Deontay Wilder at the end of 2023 and then three months later he got the vote on a majority decision against China’s Zhang Zhilei.

So, what can we expect in Riyadh?

Parker is expected to weigh in at the heaviest of his career for the fight, so it could be that he is prepared to stand his ground and exchange power punches with Dubois, who has won his last three fights by knockout.

That revelation is water off a duck’s back to the title holder, whose trainer Don Charles told Sky Sports that Dubois will once again be going for the jugular this weekend.

He said: “That is the plan, that's always the plan. This is the silence before the storm. Not only has Daniel beaten these people, he's beaten them in spectacular style, so we can only keep improving.

"He's only getting better. He really is. He's more than hungry, he's starving and as a team collective we're starving.”

Parker’s head coach is less concerned about Dubois’ power than his jab which could determine the outcome of the fight.

"You have to make it his biggest weakness, you have to make him uncertain and hesitant in throwing it,” Lee told the BBC.

"That means stepping back from it, taking the range away, slipping inside, stepping outside and countering it, that's where I think the fight will be won and lost.

"We've trained every day in trying to take the jab away from Dubois and if we can, that will go a long way to Joe winning the fight,” he added.

That will be easier said than done.

All but one of Dubois’ 22 victories have been by knockout and it’s hard to ignore that statistic ahead of the fight.

With that in mind, The Panel are picking the IBF champion to win by KO, TKO or disqualification as their first Dubois vs Parker prediction which can be backed at 10/11 with a range of betting apps.

Dubois Vs Parker Odds: Late Finish In Riyadh?

Parker, though, went the distance against both Wilder and Zhang, so he has proved durable against powerful opponents.

However, Dubois was relentless against Joshua and being six years younger than the challenger will certainly help his cause.

The next of The Panel’s Dubois vs Parker betting tips is for the Londoner to get the job done between rounds 7-12 at 15/8 with boxing betting sites.

Finally, Over 1.5 knockdowns catches the eye at 7/5 with LiveScore Bet.

Despite beating Zhang by decision almost a year ago, Parker was twice sent to the canvas by the Chinese veteran, so that does not bode well for his fight with Dubois, who is at his peak.

Parker was also knocked out by Joyce in a thrilling heavyweight battle in Manchester three years ago, so he has history of being floored and now faces an increasingly dangerous opponent.
