Darwin Nunez Next Club Odds: Napoli Set To Sign Misfiring Forward

Darwin Nunez appears increasingly likely to join Napoli this summer, with betting sites making the forward odds-on to join the Italian champions before the start of next season.

The 25-year-old Uruguayan, who arrived at Anfield from Benfica in a £65 million deal three years ago, has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under Arne Slot.

Despite making 30 Premier League appearances last season, Nunez was named in the starting XI only eight times and managed just five goals, prompting speculation over his long-term future with the Merseyside club.

According to reports from Sky Sports Italy, Napoli have initiated formal negotiations with Liverpool and are eager to secure a deal swiftly.

Despite being 7/1 to stay at Anfield, sources close to the player suggest that Nunez is open to the move, which could offer him a fresh start and more consistent playing time.

So, where will Nunez be plying his trade at the start of next season?

Let’s take a look at the odds provided by betting apps.

Napoli Favourites To Sign Nunez

Napoli are leading the chase for Nunez this summer, with former midfielder Walter Gargano revealing the winger has told him that he's waiting to leave Liverpool for the Italian champions.

The Uruguayan, who joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022, has struggled for consistent starts under Arne Slot and is keen for a fresh start.

Antonio Conte’s Napoli not only promise Champions League football next season, but could also offer Nunez a central role in their attack.

Though he may have underperformed in the Premier League last season, Nunez will still feel he has plenty to offer at the highest level.

With talks reportedly underway and the player ready to make the move, Napoli lead the market to seal the deal.

They are 2/5 to be Nunez’s next club after the summer transfer window.

Atletico Hold Nunez In High Regard

Atletico Madrid are expected to be in the market for a new striker this summer, and one of their reported targets could be the Liverpool forward.

Nunez is reportedly held in high regard by Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, who is looking to reshape his attacking options.

Antoine Griezmann may be nearing the end of his second stint with the Spanish side, as he is said to be keen on a move to MLS.

As a result, the Uruguayan is priced at 6/1 to become his replacement at the Metropolitano Stadium.

Darwin Bound For The Bundesliga?

Liverpool’s capture of Florian Wirtz has paved the way for Nunez to head in the opposite direction, with Bayer Leverkusen eyeing the Uruguayan as a direct replacement.

Wirtz’s £116 million move to Anfield has left a significant gap in Leverkusen’s attacking line-up, and Nunez is seen as a strong candidate to fill that void under incoming head coach Erik ten Hag.

The 25-year-old forward could benefit from a fresh start in the Bundesliga, where regular playing time and a prominent role could help him rediscover his best form.

He is currently priced at 8/1 to be playing in Germany’s top flight next season.

Saudi Seen As An Option

Liverpool reportedly rejected an offer for Nunez from Al-Nassr in January, with the Saudi Pro League side eventually turning their attention to Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran instead.

The club’s second bid - worth over £60 million - was reportedly close to Liverpool’s valuation of Nunez.

However, at the time, Liverpool still considered Nunez a key part of Slot’s plans and did not have a replacement lined up as the winter window drew to a close.

Things are different now, and Nunez is 10/1 to join a Saudi club in the summer according to football betting sites.

AC Milan Lead Chasing Pack

Nunez raised eyebrows when he appeared to like an image on Instagram of himself in an AC Milan shirt following Liverpool’s Champions League clash at the San Siro last season.

Of course, it may have been a simple mistake – but could there be more to it?

AC Milan, currently undergoing a restructuring process and looking to strengthen their squad, are reportedly willing to offer up to £60 million for Nunez, and he is now 25/1 to be wearing the red and black shirt permanently after the summer.

Elsewhere, other names in the frame include Aston Villa, also at 25/1, while Arsenal, Inter Milan and Chelsea can also be backed at 33/1.
