Emmerdale Odds: John Sugden Odds-On For Fake Identity Twist

Emmerdale killer John Sugden looks set to leave the village in the coming weeks, sparking speculation on betting sites about just how he might depart.
Oliver Farnworth has perfectly portrayed the calculated character, but all soap villains have a shelf life.
A source recently told The Sun newspaper: "It’s the beginning of the end for John. He’s got away with so much but he’s about to make a fatal mistake that sees him exposed for what he is.
"Obviously Oliver knew that a character like John had a shelf life and that’s rapidly approaching.
"He’s loved his time on the show but there’s still plenty of twists and turns coming before he departs for good."
While John has been hailed a hero by many villagers, the viewers know the truth about him.
Emmerdale Odds: How Will John Sugden Leave The Village?
Departure | Odds | Probability |
Flees The Village Without Aaron | 11/10 | 47.6% |
Robert Kills John | 6/4 | 40% |
In A Police Car/ Sent To Prison | 13/8 | 38.1% |
Flees The Village With Aaron | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Aaron Kills John | 3/1 | 25% |
Anthony Fox Takes Revenge On John | 4/1 | 20% |
Cain Kills John | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Another Villager Kills John | 8/1 | 11.1% |
John previously murdered his husband Aaron Dingle's (Danny Miller) cousin, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) and he also disposed of Anthony Fox's (Nicholas Day) dead body.
He is also responsible for Jacob Gallagher having an anaphylactic shock and Chas Dingle overdosing.
This week, John and Aaron prepare to say their goodbyes to the villagers ahead of a new start - but there are rarely any happy endings in Soapland.
John Who?
One huge fan theory among Emmerdale superfans is whether John is even a Sugden
In spoilers revealed this week, Aaron is set to grow suspicious of his husband in next week's episodes.
It is not been revealed what Aaron finds out about John, which leads him to accuse his significant other of lying to him, but there's a lot of history he could uncover.
Emmerdale Odds: Is John Really A Sugden?
Yes | 4/6 |
No | 6/4 |
As well as his dealings with dead bodies, John has a secret recording of Aaron's ex, Robert Sugden, attacking him - and it reveals the brawl began because he had tried to strangle Robert.
Emmerdale have dropped a spoiler picture that sees Aaron holding onto a photo frame.
This has sparked huge speculation about John's identity, and some fans are convinced that it will be revealed he has a fake identity and is not a Sugden at all.
It is 4/6 on betting apps that John turns out not to be a Sugden after all, which would be huge justification for the weeks-long fan theory.
John To Flee
John's storyline has been a slow burner for Emmerdale fans, but things are ramping up this week, and they really accelerate in Thursday night's hour-long special.
It was recently reported by The Sun that Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) will meet his maker after making a "chilling discovery" about John.
During Wednesday night's Emmerdale episode, Mack found a photo album that saw John standing alongside the removal man who cleared out Nate's possessions and took them to Shetland.
In the scrapbook, it says the man is called Ben (Jacob Anderton), and him and John are described as "Brothers in Arms".
Spoiler alert - those who have tuned into Thursday's hour-long Emmerdale episode will see John tell Mack it would have been "better" for him if he had not seen that photo, and Mack admits to John he knows he killed Nate.
A Robin Hood-style scene ensues as John grabs a bow and arrow and narrowly misses Mack, and what follows needs to be watched rather than read.
It doesn't look great for Mack, but could this end up being another nail in the coffin for John?
There is only so many crimes someone can commit in Soapland before there's comeuppance.
Amid speculation John is to depart the village, his retribution looks to be coming soon - but how?
The evil character is just 11/10 to flee the village without Aaron, and 2/1 to depart with him, both of which would give the character the chance to come back and wreak more havoc at a later date.
John To Meet His Maker?
However, Emmerdale fans may not settle for John riding off into the sunset with his bow and arrow on his back.
While some villagers adore him, if everything comes out about his evil ways then there will be plenty of hatred towards the character.
Robert is just 6/4 to take John down for good.
This could pave the way for him to reunite with his ex Aaron and seal the return of Robron, which is what the couple were known as during their glory days together.
It's 3/1 Aaron bumps off his own husband, or some fans have even suggested Anthony may not be dead, and that he could make a shock return to the village to wreak revenge on John (4/1).
Cain is a 6/1 shot to avenge his son Nate's murder.
Speaking in The Woolpack, Cain recently said about his late son's killer: "If they are still out there, they'd better pray the police get to them before I do."
