Euro 2024 Predictions: The Panel's Best Bets & Tips For Saturday's Games

Euro 2024 Predictions

The second round of fixtures in the Euro 2024 group stage conclude on Saturday and it’s an important time for those six teams competing.

Belgium’s clash with Romania is the headline act after the Red Devils slumped to a surprising loss to Slovakia in their opener. Domenico Tedesco’s men can ill afford another defeat in their bid to reach the knockout phase.

Portugal continue their campaign against Turkey, while Georgia and the Czech Republic duel it out in Saturday’s first game.

The Panel have cast their expert eye over each fixture and have made one betting prediction per game using the best odds from UK betting sites

Georgia vs Czech Republic, Saturday 2pm

(BBC 1)

Both Georgia and Czech Republic played out thrilling matches in their respective openers and were unfortunate to both be on the losing end. Georgia conceded a stunner to Mert Muldur before Georges Mikautadze equalised.

However, another brilliant goal from Arda Gruler restored Turkey’s lead before Kerem Akturkoglu sealed the game in stoppage time.

Czech Republic were also undone in injury time against Portugal by Francisco Conceicao’s late goal after a solid performance looked to have done enough to earn a point.

There’s plenty for both teams to build on, but nerves and fatigue after putting so much into the opener could weigh into the equation for this game.

Czech Republic have the experience and that could be crucial in a tight contest where both sides are desperate not to lose. The Panel have looked at several markets but feels that there’s enough value taking Czech Republic on the nose to win on betting apps at 10/13

Turkey vs Portugal, Saturday 5pm

(ITV 1)

Portugal made hard work of their opener against Czech Republic. VAR denied Diogo Jota a winner, but Conceicao spared the Selecao’s blushes to secure the three points.

However, Roberto Martinez knows that his side will have to improve, especially against a talented Turkey outfit that can hurt teams with strikes from distance.

Turkey didn’t have complete control of their game against Georgia but were clinical when it mattered the most.

Muldur’s strike was sensational, while Gruler’s was not bad either. Portugal will have to be on their guard and will have to get more out of Cristiano Ronaldo, who was largely underwhelming in the opener.

Portugal may not be able to rely on the great forward to propel them on a deep surge in the competition, with a best price of 6/1 to win the Euros with football betting sites. However, there are several talented midfielders with Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva playing outstanding football.

Silva had a habit of coming up in big moments for Manchester City and The Panel feel that he could be the one to unlock the Turkey defence.

He has 11 goals and 27 assists in 90 international appearances, and notably four of those assists have come in his last eight Portugal games. The Panel like the odds of 5/4 for Silva to score or assist in the game with Bet365.

Belgium vs Romania, Saturday 8pm

(ITV 1)

Poor Romelu Lukaku endured another horror show in front of goal for Belgium at a major tournament.

Belgium’s all-time leading scorer ended the 2022 World Cup with a flurry of misses that resulted in his team’s departure from the competition at the group stage, and he began the Euros in the same fashion with several miscues and a disallowed goal against Slovakia.

Tedesco’s side paid the price and were duly beaten by Slovakia to put them under huge pressure against Romania. In contrast, Romania were on point in front of goal in a 3-0 triumph over Ukraine and another victory over the Red Devils would secure their place in the round of 16.

So, there’s great incentive for Edward Iordanescu’s side to push for the three points. Belgium will surely respond and Tedesco will likely give Lukaku the chance to lead the line again even with Lois Openda in the squad.

Surely Lukaku’s luck in front of goal must change. He will get chances with Jeremy Doku and Kevin De Bruyne providing the ammunition. The Panel are happy to back Lukaku to score anytime at evens
