FairPlay Sports Media Names Hannah Buitekant Chief Growth Officer

FairPlay Sports Media, the sports betting media and BetTech group behind Oddschecker and WhoScored, has appointed Hannah Buitekant as its new Chief Growth Officer, the company confirmed on October 5, 2026.
Buitekant joins after a 12-year tenure at UK publisher dmg media, home to the Daily Mail, Metro, i Paper and New Scientist.
12-Year Media Career Joins The C-Suite
Buitekant's executive team profile on FairPlay Sports Media's own site confirms that she spent 12 years at dmg media, most recently serving as Chief Commercial Digital and Strategy Officer, and that she held a series of senior leadership roles there.
She has close to two decades of experience spanning commercial transformation and building high-value strategic partnerships across media and technology, according to the company.
She has been tasked with leading the execution of FairPlay's growth strategy for both its media partners and its iGaming operator clients, a role that spans the group's betting comparison, sports media and AI pricing businesses.
An Expanding Executive Team
Buitekant joins FairPlay's leadership line-up alongside chief executive Stuart Simms, chief financial officer Claire Pape, chief operations officer Jerome Underhill and chief technology officer Matt Robinson.
FairPlay Sports Media has built out its executive bench through 2025 and 2026 as it expanded beyond Oddschecker's odds-comparison roots into WhoScored, SuperScommesse, and a separate FairPlay Technologies arm that delivers predictive pricing and behavioural data tools to operators.
Why It Matters For Operators And Affiliates
The appointment comes as betting comparison and sports media groups compete for both reader attention and operator advertising budgets, with growth leadership increasingly focused on monetising audience data and cross-channel partnerships rather than traffic alone.
For operators that work with Oddschecker and WhoScored on media deals, a dedicated growth chief signals a more structured partner strategy going into 2027.

The FairPlay Brand Portfolio
FairPlay Sports Media's brand portfolio has grown well beyond Oddschecker's original odds-comparison product.
The group also owns WhoScored, the football statistics and ratings site, and Italian odds comparison brand SuperScommesse, and in February 2025, it folded its AI pricing and predictive data work into a dedicated FairPlay Technologies arm.
The group added senior hires from Microsoft and Playtech to its leadership bench through 2025, a build-out that continues with Buitekant's appointment as the newest addition to the executive team.
