It’s back to normality in Game Week 35, with 10 Premier League fixtures taking place between Saturday 6 May and Monday 8 May.

All eyes will be on the Etihad Stadium where Sam Allardyce takes charge of Leeds United for the most difficult managerial debut he has surely experienced, with FPL managers pinning their hopes on Manchester City assets including a certain Leeds-born striker!

Liverpool have been scoring plenty of goals in recent weeks and they have a Saturday teatime encounter against a stubborn Brentford team, with Newcastle’s Sunday clash against Arsenal not an ideal fixture for managers who have players from both of these teams.

However, Brighton’s game against Everton on Bank Holiday Monday looks altogether more appetising.

When is the Game Week 35 Transfer Deadline?

The Game Week 35 transfer deadline is 1.30pm on Saturday 6 May, shortly before the four 3pm kick-offs on that particular day.

Which Teams Have the Best FPL Fixtures For GW35 And Beyond?

It’s important to remember that although there are only four Game Weeks remaining in the 2022/23 Premier League season, some teams have more than four games left.

Take BRIGHTON for example, who have six fixtures left to fulfil starting with that easy-looking home encounter against a relegation-threatened Everton team who are conceding plenty of goals.

The Seagulls might have a difficult GW36 double header away to Arsenal and Newcastle, although that’s followed by home matches against Southampton and Manchester City before a trip to Villa Park on the final day of the season. This sort of volume means that Brighton players should be on the radar.

MANCHESTER CITY are likely to make hay in their final five Premier League games. The only downside is that a Champions League semi-final tie against Real Madrid means a fixture overload and squad rotation, although Leeds at home and Everton away look like great fixtures for FPL points and then comes a double header against Chelsea and Brighton.

We can’t ignore NEWCASTLE UNITED considering they’re scoring goals in volume and they clash with Arsenal at St James’ Park before a Double Game Week against Leeds (a) and Brighton (h). Then comes Leicester at SJP before a final game at Stamford Bridge, with this looking like a great fixture run.

Who Are the Best GW35 Players to Buy?

Defenders

It seems to be the same defenders who are getting bought each Game Week, with PERVIS ESTUPINAN (£4.8m) scoring a healthy nine points against Wolves in GW34 and his ownership is now creeping towards the 15% mark.

Strangely, JOHN STONES (£5.6m) is owned by less than 10% of managers although that statistic could change when you consider his recent tallies, although it comes down to whether you can accommodate a Manchester City defender when there are so many attacking options from this team.

Midfielders

A trip to West Ham doesn’t look to be the most inviting fixture although the ownership percentage of MARCUS RASHFORD (£7.2m) continues to rise and perhaps this is just a case of FPL managers restoring the Manchester United attacker to their ranks, with plenty of fixtures left for the Red Devils.

Interestingly, PASCAL GROSS (£5.4m) has leapt ahead of Kaoru Mitoma, Alexis Mac Allister and Solly March in terms of trending Brighton midfielders, with Roberto de Zerbi playing the Austrian in a more advanced position against Wolves and this player was all the rage at the beginning of the season when scoring 35 FPL points in the first four Game Weeks!

One can’t help but feel that managers are being reactive with their acquisition of MARTIN ODEGAARD (£6.6m) after the Norwegian’s brace against Chelsea, although we’re far more confident that KEVIN DE BRUYNE (£12.2m) can have his usual end-of-season impact for Manchester City.

The fact that the Belgian was wrapped in cotton wool for EPL fixtures against Fulham and West Ham means he could be ready to score some big numbers over the coming weeks, with KDB traditionally coming alive at the end of a football season where the stakes are high and we know he can rack up big FPL totals.

Forwards

Two Newcastle forwards are top of the wanted list for Game Week 35, with CALLUM WILSON (£7.0m) and ALEXANDER ISAK (£6.9m) both capable of big points hauls. The former was thought to be second string after the arrival of the Swede, although 25 points have been notched in the past two GW’s and he could be worth having for the final stretch.

Isak is probably a more nailed on starter who has 21 points from his past three games and we’re likely to see him get plenty of minutes for some favourable fixtures. There’s nothing against the idea of getting both players if you feel that the Magpies are going to sustain impressive form.

Who thought that DANNY WELBECK (£6.5m) would be a viable FPL option? The Brighton forward racked up fifteen points against Wolves in a recent encounter, although a lack of minutes would be a concern for anyone considering signing the former Manchester United and Arsenal forward.

Who Are the Best GW35 Players to Sell?

Defenders

The majority of defenders being sold this week are injured. WILLIAM SALIBA and NECO WILLIAMS are unlikely to play no further part for their respective teams this season, with GABRIEL another Arsenal defender who is being sold and it’s been several Game Weeks since the Brazilian achieved a healthy return.

Midfielders

All good things eventually come to an end, with BUKAYO SAKA having achieved just one positive scoring Game Week in the past six. Although the Arsenal man is on penalties for the Gunners, he appears to have been targeted by opposition players and managers are jumping off the horse and opting for viable alternatives.

GABRIEL MARTINELLI was benched for Arsenal’s recent 3-1 win over Chelsea and it’s understandable why managers are looking to sell off a player who doesn’t have guaranteed minutes, with JACK GREALISH having failed to deliver attacking returns in the past few games for Manchester City.

Forwards

The OLLIE WATKINS scoring run has come to an end, with the Aston Villa striker drawing blanks in his past three games against Brentford, Fulham and Manchester United. IVAN TONEY has been faring better recently, although the Bees do have some tough remaining fixtures starting with a trip to Anfield and managers are now moving on a player who has been trolling us for most of the season!

DIOGO JOTA was all the rage a week ago, although the Liverpool man will clearly have to share game time with the returning Luis Diaz along with Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez. It’s a dangerous ploy to rely on anyone other than the ever-present Mohamed Salah and Liverpool only beat Fulham by a solitary goal on Wednesday.

Who Should Be Captain For Game Week 35?

Erling Haaland was born in Leeds and the Manchester City forward might not show too much mercy against opponents who will be coached by Sam Allardyce for their final few games

The Norwegian could unleash hell against the relegation-threatened strugglers, although it’s possible that he will be hooked with Real Madrid in mind next week.

Brighton’s home match against Everton brings the Seagulls into sharper focus but the difficulty is selecting the right player and Roberto de Zerbi has shown recently that nobody is immune from rotation.

Some will instead be considering Mohamed Salah for Liverpool’s home clash against Brentford and the Reds are full of goals right now.
