We’ve now reached the final furlong of the 2022/23 Fantasy Premier League season, with just three Game Weeks remaining to boost your overall ranking and your mini league positions!

There is still time to rack up some big scores, with an unpredictable GW35 seeing more goals scored (21) in the three Bank Holiday Monday clashes than the preceding seven encounters (13).

There’s still plenty at stake at both ends of the table and it’s all about identifying the teams and players whose needs are the greatest.

That includes Leeds United and Newcastle who meet in a Saturday lunchtime encounter where the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Similarly, the Sunday afternoon clashes include Everton v Manchester City and Arsenal v Brighton.

When is the Game Week 36 Transfer Deadline?

There’s an 11am transfer deadline on Saturday, May 14 this Game Week, shortly before Sam Allardyce comes face-to-face with former club Newcastle United at Elland Road.

Which Teams Have the Best FPL Fixtures For GW36, GW37 and GW38?

Game Week 36 is a double GW for both NEWCASTLE and BRIGHTON

The Magpies have a favourable pair of fixtures by virtue of a trip to Leeds and then a home match against the Seagulls, although Roberto de Zerbi’s team go to the Emirates and St James’ Park.

However, Brighton also have a Double Game Week in 37 when they host Southampton and Manchester City, so there is a heavy volume of games in their battle for a Premier League top four spot.

Those that prefer to focus on GW 37 should be aware that Manchester City are among the teams that have two games, with Pep Guardiola’s side going up against Chelsea at home before a trip to Bournemouth.

The only downside is that they also have a Champions League engagement with Real Madrid next Wednesday which could mean Pep roulette.

Manchester United’s GW36 fixture at home to Wolves is attractive and this comes before a double against Bournemouth (a) and Chelsea (h). The fact that the Red Devils then play a third game at Old Trafford against Fulham means that there are reasons to get with United players for the run-in.

A word also for ARSENAL who have no Double Game Weeks left, but they’re shooting for the title and their home matches against Brighton and Wolves sandwich an away fixture at Nottingham Forest. There are certainly points to be had from Gunners assets.

Who Are the Best GW36 Players to Buy?

Defenders

PERVIS ESTUPINAN (£4.9m) was part of the Brighton & Hove Albion team who were heavily beaten at home to Everton on Bank Holiday Monday.

However, he’s the most popular Fantasy Premier League defender for GW36 and it’s hardly a surprise considering that the Seagulls defender looks nailed to play in his team’s remaining five fixtures including two consecutive Double Game Weeks.

However, it’s clear that TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD (£7.6m) has now returned to the force of old as far as FPL is concerned, with the Liverpool defender scoring 37 points in his past six Game Weeks.

There could be more points to come from a player commonly found in the middle of the park and hugely capable of providing attacking returns.

It’s also little surprise to see FPL managers returning to the Newcastle United well, with KIERAN TRIPPIER (£6.1m) and FABIAN SCHAR (£5.1m) among the popular options ahead of a Magpies double.

However, the team aren’t keeping anywhere near as many clean sheets compared to the first half of the season where the defence looked watertight.

Midfielders

It’s now impossible to ignore the numbers being posted by MARTIN ODEGAARD (£6.7m), who is the driving attacking force behind Arsenal’s final title assault and the Norwegian having scored 44 points in his past five Game Weeks.

The Gunners skipper can no longer be overlooked, especially at the price point, and he’s a nailed starter as the London side look to get the job done.

However, it’s ALEXIS MAC ALLISTER (£5.5m) who has been signed by over 100,000 managers already and the Argentine has been on the scoresheet in the past two matches.

Meanwhile, we also know that the Liverpool target is the first-choice penalty taker for a Seagulls team who have consecutive Game Weeks on the horizon.

Some managers are rolling the dice and opting for JOELINTON (£6.0m) who has the potential to score big in GW36.

But, it might instead be worth taking a chance on RIYAD MAHREZ (£7.3m) as a differential considering that the Algerian can be a power scorer when given the chance by Pep Guardiola.

Forwards

There were two Newcastle forwards topping the menu in the previous Game Week and we’re once again seeing a surge for ALEXANDER ISAK (£7.0m) and CALLUM WILSON (£7.1m) ahead of the Magpies’ double header against Leeds and Brighton.

Eddie Howe’s side drew a blank against Arsenal although we’ve seen them rack up big goal tallies this season and the pair are an obvious play.

Do you trust DANNY WELBECK (£6.5m) as an FPL asset? He’s one of the most highly-sought after forwards in GW36 but he only managed 45 minutes against Everton.

A better differential potentially coming in the form of JULIAN ALVAREZ (£6.0m) who is a capable understudy for Erling Haaland and currently getting game time in Premier League clashes.

Who Are the Best GW36 Players to Sell?

Defenders

Farewell to TYRONE MINGS, it was good while it lasted big man, as the Aston Villa defender has been a fantastic differential for managers in recent weeks.

However, he’s scored three points in his past two GW’s and the Villans’ remaining fixtures do not suggest that there will be any clean sheets kept considering the opposition are Spurs, Liverpool and Brighton.

Midfielders

While Brighton have two Double Game Weeks coming up, SOLLY MARCH is leaving FPL teams right now thanks to an orange flag.

The midfielder has a hamstring injury which could limit his minutes between now and the rest of the season, with the player managing little more than 90 minutes across the past three matches and that explains why he’s being sold heavily.

With MAN CITY chasing a treble, it could be worth waiting for team news before pressing the button here.

However, managers have also become frustrated with owning JACK GREALISH - who is being used sparingly with Champions League matters coming to a head.

Elsewhere, BUKAYO SAKA is another well-owned player who is not providing attacking returns right now.

Forwards

Has OLLIE WATKINS served his purpose? Although the Aston Villa striker is getting full games, the forward’s scoring streak has now come to an end and he’s drawn a blank in his previous four encounters.

Similarly, DIOGO JOTA has followed up a return of 29 points in two GW’s with 8 points in his past four GW’s and perhaps some managers were guilty of knee-jerking.

Who Should Be Captain For Game Week 36?

It’s clear that Newcastle have a more favourable double Game Week than Brighton, so a Magpies player could be the order of the day – especially as they play a Leeds side battling against Premier League relegation

The big question is whether Alexander Isak or Callum Wilson can outscore someone like Erling Haaland or Mohamed Salah with an extra bite of the cherry.

Haaland is clearly at risk of rotation and a trip to Goodison Park doesn’t look appetising on account of Everton winning 5-1 at Brighton.

Salah could end up making hay at the King Power considering Leicester conceded five at Fulham.

However, our preference would still be to go for a Newcastle attacking player - especially if you’re looking to make ground on others in your mini league.
