Galway Racing Tips: Wednesday's Best Bets

We followed up Monday's 15/2 winner with two each-way tips placing at prices of 8/1 and 14/1 with horse racing betting sites on day two.

That leaves us with a nice profit heading into Wednesday's action, where the coveted Galway Plate takes centre stage.

Once again, we have three Galway racing tips today, including one in the feature race at a big price.

Below we outline the best bets for day three at Ballybrit racecourse, as we hope to continue the good run.

Tip 1: 17:35 - Arctic Gale - 1pt Win - 4/1 With Bet365

The first selection comes in a decent-looking two-mile six-furlong handicap chase.

With 19 runners going to post, it won't be for the faint-hearted, and many will fancy their chances.

Arctic Gale is likely to go off favourite with betting sites, and I think he will prove hard to beat.

Trainer Emmet Mullins' charge has taken a step forward since being sent chasing, and is still open to improvement over the larger obstacles.

A good winner of a Beginners Chase at Tipperary last time, he looks well treated for his first step into handicap company here.

Mullins, who already has a winner to his name this week, reaches for a first-time tongue tie for his six-year-old.

He has ground to suit and a step up in trip could bring about even more improvement.

Tip 2: 18:40 - Jesse Evans - 0.5pts Each-Way - 14/1 With Bet365 (6 Places)

The Galway Plate is the feature on day three, and it never fails to entertain.

Favourites don't have a great record in the race, so it may be worth looking further down the market.

With six places available with Bet365, it is an ideal race for an each-way bet, and I have a feeling that Jesse Evans may be being overlooked slightly.

The nine-year-old loves it around here and has been threatening to win a big race, having twice finished runner-up in the Galway Hurdle.

Trainer Noel Meade won this race 12 months ago, and this looks to have been Jesse Evans' target this year.

His stamina will be tested here, but he should have a good chance of making the first six at the very least.

Tip 3: 19:50 - First Wave - 0.5pts Each-Way - 13/2 With Bet365 (3 Places)

We have had some good results with flat racing so far this week, and we return to the level for the last of our Galway racing tips today.

Some nice three-year-olds line up in the one-mile handicap, but there could be some value to be found with the Aidan O'Brien-trained First Wave.

A maiden winner at Gowran Park two starts ago, he was thrown in at the deep end at Royal Ascot in the St James's Palace Stakes last time.

That was a step too far, however, but it shows that his master trainer holds him in high regard.

He makes his handicap debut here off a mark that could prove to be on the lenient side, and the Galway track should suit him well.

Sujet is a classy sort and a worthy favourite with betting apps, but our selection can give him plenty to think about.
