Genesis Invitational Betting Tips: 5 Selections From Return To Torrey Pines

Just three weeks after Harris English won the Farmers Insurance Open, the PGA Tour returns to the South Course at Torrey Pines for The Genesis Invitational.
The wildfires which devastated the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles mean the third Signature Event of the season has been moved from its traditional home of Riviera.
Because of its elevated status, many of the world’s best players are competing at the longest course on the PGA Tour at 7,765 yards and, as you would expect, Scottie Scheffler is the 4/1 favourite to win with betting sites.
Rory McIlroy, who recently won his 27th PGA Tour title at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, is second in the betting at 8/1, followed by Collin Morikawa (14/1) and Justin Thomas (18/1).
The Panel have picked out five Genesis Invitational betting tips for this week’s 80-man field tournament which has no cut.
Genesis Invitational Betting Tips: Rory Can Double Up
The Panel won’t be winning any prizes for originality, but McIlroy catches the eye at 8/1 with Unibet to make it back-to-back successes.
The Northern Irishman skipped last week’s Phoenix Open so should be fresh for the challenge of Torrey Pines where he has an excellent record.
Although he has not played at the Farmers Insurance Open in four years, his record between 2019-21 reads 5-3-16 and he was seventh when Torrey Pines also hosted the 2021 US Open.
Following his victory a fortnight ago, McIlroy said: "I’m just as determined this year in any of the years I’ve been out here on the PGA Tour.
"To get this win this early it means a great deal and hopefully [I can] just keep the momentum going into Torrey Pines."
It was more than 10 years ago that McIlroy last won back-to-back tournaments at the WGC- Bridgestone Invitational and the USPGA Championship, but he is on a roll following his success in Dubai and looks hard to resist this week.

Genesis Invitational Odds: Morikawa Can End Drought
Morikawa has won just one tournament since 2021, the year of his Open and DP World Tour Championship victories, but this could be the week he finally seals the deal and adds to his six PGA Tour titles.
Disregarding starting strokes, he won the Tour Championship in September and he got 2025 off to an excellent start with a runner-up finish at The Sentry followed by a top 20 at Pebble Beach.
Harris English won here three weeks ago and continued a trend of champions excelling in three areas: approach, tee-to-green and putting.
Morikawa tops the list using the Strokes Gained: tee-to-green metric and is third for approach.
When you consider he has the highest percentage for greens in regulation in the early part of the season, it is starting to look like it could be a good week for the likeable American.
His putting was so-so two weeks ago, but he was in the top six at Kapalua, and he has played well at Torrey Pines recently.
Although he missed the cut at last year’s Farmers Insurance Open, Morikawa was third 12 months earlier and fourth at the 2021 US Open.
Genesis Invitational Prediction 2: Collin Morikawa (Each-Way) - 14/1 With Betfred (Five Places)
Genesis Invitational Preview: Im In Love With Torrey Pines
Of the outsiders, Im Sung-jae looks a good fit at 33/1 with golf betting sites.
The 26-year-old South Korean last won a title at the Shriners Children’s Open more than four years ago, but he has been knocking on the door lately and his record at Torrey Pines is outstanding.
Im finished fourth at the Farmers Insurance Open three weeks ago, just three shots behind winner English.
Although he missed the cut here in 2024, his previous two visits saw him finish sixth and fourth, so this is a track he clearly enjoys.
His last two outings have been middling, but he was third at The Sentry and now he’s back at a venue where he feels comfortable, Im can threaten a quality field if his irons are hot.
Im is 35/1 in places, but the Panel prefer the seven places on offer with William Hill as the next of their Genesis Invitational tips.
Genesis Invitational Prediction 3: Im Sung-jae (Each-Way) - 33/1 With William Hill (Seven Places)
Genesis Invitational Predictions: Taylor Can Sew Up Torrey Pines Title
At the same price, the in-form Taylor Pendrith looks an excellent choice to continue his fine run at Torrey Pines.
The 30-year-old Canadian won his first PGA Tour title at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson nine months ago and is getting closer to another victory if recent results are anything to go by.
Seventh at the Farmers Insurance Open a few weeks ago, Pendrith enjoyed another top 10 at Pebble Beach which has the same poa annua greens used by Torrey Pines.
Only three players have been better tee-to-green than Pendrith this season and he is second behind Morikawa for greens in regulation.
Obviously, this week’s field is far superior than three weeks ago, but Pendrith is on a hot streak and gets the nod at 33/1 for the next of The Panel’s Genesis Invitational betting tips.
Genesis Invitational Prediction 4: Taylor Pendrith (Each-Way) - 33/1 With William Hill (Seven Places)
Genesis Invitational Tips: Second Chance for Novak
The Panel tipped Andrew Novak for a top 20 last week and although he missed the cut, but are prepared to give him another go in the same market at 3/1 with betting apps.
It’s been feast or famine for the American this season, but crucially he was third at the Farmers Insurance Open and 13th at Pebble Beach.
That tells us, Novak is comfortable on poa annua greens which can be tricky both because of the grass and the slopes which are typical at Torrey Pines.
He has a tough field to overcome, but Novak knows he can play well here and looks well priced to finish inside the top 20 once more.
Genesis Invitational Prediction 5: Andrew Novak Top 20 - 3/1 With Spreadex
