Grand National And US Masters Each-Way Double

Sports fans are in for a treat over the next two weekends.
The Aintree Grand National and the US Masters are two of the world's most popular events of the year and attract many wagers on betting sites.
Each-way backers, in particular, enjoy the task of choosing potential winners in both contests, with big-priced horses and golfers having won the respective events in the past.
Here, our horse racing and golf betting experts have joined forces to pick out a value each-way double that will hopefully increase your attention on both sporting spectacles.
Let's start with the Grand National at Aintree.
The Panel Aintree Grand National Tip
Minella Cocooner 1pt Each-Way - 14/1 With Bet365 (6 Places)
The Grand National is a race for all bettors to take on horse racing betting sites, particularly those who prefer backing big-priced outsiders that have a chance of finishing in the first five places.
Noble Yeats was a shock 50/1 winner three years ago, while Mon Mome was priced at 100/1 when he won the Aintree showpiece in 2009.
Check out how racing experts Dean Ryan and Diarmuid Nolan assess and rank every horse set to race in Saturday's Grand National in the video below:
Since then, however, the race has undergone several changes, and potential winners must have a touch of class to succeed.
That leads us to think that the Willie Mullins-trained Minella Cocooner can go close on Saturday.
Although he has yet to win this season, Minella Cocooner has been mixing it with the best in Grade 1 company and finished a decent fourth in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse last time out.
Just 12 months ago, he was victorious in the Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown.
He has been finishing his races really well, meaning this marathon trip is right up his street.
His jumping is sound, and he will enjoy the good ground. Hopefully, he will be staying on strongly in the end to grab a place at the very least.
Bet365 is paying out to six places, and he is priced at decent odds of 14/1.
The Panel US Masters Tip
Robert MacIntyre 1pt Each-Way - 33/1 With Bet365 (10 Places)
*Odds correct at 13:30 on 3/4/2025
The US Masters is perfect for betting as punters get a run for their money over four days (or just two if you’re unlucky), but with so many quality players on display, it makes sense to look at each-way odds and take advantage of the double-digit places on offer.
Many betting apps don’t offer between six and 10 places until the weekend before the start of the year’s first major, but Bet365 has stolen a march on its rivals, and The Panel will be using it for their leg of the Grand National/US Masters double.
Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre has been included as one of The Panel’s US Masters each-way tips at 50/1, but he also catches the eye at 33/1 with 10 places instead of the six at the higher odds.
The left-hander has been in brilliant form in the build-up to the US Masters, finishing 11th at Bay Hill and ninth at Sawgrass, where he finished in his last outing at the Singapore Classic on the DP World Tour.
MacIntyre is making his first appearance at Augusta in three years, but his two previous visits were very encouraging: 12th on his 2021 debut, followed by a top 25 one year later.
The 28-year-old from Oban had a sensational 2024, winning both the Canadian Open and the Scottish Open, which The Panel tipped at 45/1. Thus, he is a player with fond memories for readers of this column.
Other factors drew The Panel towards MacIntyre, such as his excellent Strokes Gained metrics for both tee-to-green and approach, which will be vital for the chances of success next week.
MacIntyre is fifth for the former and inside the top 20 for the latter, so with an improved putting performance on these tricky bentgrass greens, there is no reason the world number 17 cannot challenge some of the higher-profile names at Augusta.
* Minella Cocooner/Robert MacIntyre double pays 509/1 with Bet365.
*Odds correct at 13:30 on 3/4/2025
