Jack P Shepherd Odds: Corrie Star Looks Set To Land Tea Job Following CBB Win

Coronation Street legend Jack P Shepherd won this year's Celebrity Big Brother against the odds.

Drag queen Danny Beard was the odds-on favourite on betting sites to triumph heading into the final, but Corrie actor Jack received just 1.65 per cent more of the public vote than Danny to clinch victory last week.

Jack looked shocked to be crowned CBB victor, and some viewers were also bemused after most of his screentime appeared to be him drinking tea.

However, could this lead to a new opportunity?

Yorkshire Tea To Come Calling?

Jack's tea obsession went viral during his time in the CBB house, especially after it was revealed he was using two tea bags per cup

The Corrie star blamed the "c**p" water in southern England for his need for additional bags, and he also admitted the quality of the tea on offer wasn't quite what he was used to, due to the housemates failing tasks and losing out on luxury shopping budgets.

However, Jack is now expected to be bombarded with decent offers from tea companies to appear in adverts, or become the face of a tea company.

Jack admitted on GMB that he loves a cuppa of Assam tea, but he also hails from West Yorkshire, meaning Yorkshire Tea could come calling.

It's just 4/6 on betting apps for Jack to take part in a tea advert or become the face of a tea company next, but any such opportunities could be blocked by Corrie bosses.

A TV insider recently told The Sun newspaper: "It used to be a lot stricter, but these days ITV soap stars are allowed certain partnerships that are permitted on social media.

"The line is drawn at advertising more generally - and absolutely no TV adverts."

Platt's It For Now

One way around this could be for Jack to depart the Street, after playing character David Platt for the past 25 years.

Just before Christmas, there were rumblings on the cobbles that all will not be well for David in 2025.

The character has had a tough start to the year to say the least.

David saw his mother Gail Platt make a festive departure away from Weatherfield.

He owed a gangster a small fortune, he was run over, and his stepson Max Turner was sent to prison for arson after he set fire to their own home in an attempted insurance scam - to get David the money to pay back gangster Harvey.

Ahead of his appearance in the CBB house, Jack didn't come across 100 per cent sure that his future will be on the soap, but admitted he would be prepared to stay on the cobbles if the Platt family still receive "good stories".

He said on his On The Sofa podcast: "I think I'll stay [for another 25 years].

"If we are still being used, the Platts are still being used and we are still getting good stories and I like the same people."

However, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if Jack followed in the footsteps of his best mate Colson Smith.

Colson appeared in last year's CBB, finishing third, and he's just recently shot his final scenes on Corrie.

Jack is just 10/11 to depart Weatherfield next, and doing so could free him up for other TV opportunities.

If Loose Men bosses are on the lookout for a new guest panellist then they could do far worse than Jack.

He is 6/4 to land such a gig, but he might be looking to reunite with his fellow CBB housemate Chris Hughes next.

While Chris may be busy spending time with housemate JoJo Siwa, Jack and Chris are 5/2 to launch their own podcast, and it's 4/1 they collaborate on their own TV show together.

Jungle Jack

However, Celebrity Big Brother may have given Jack a taste for reality TV.

If so, one natural path could be for the star to head into the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle.

One of Jack's Corrie co-stars even appeared to hint at him taking part in I'm A Celebrity during his CBB stint, by referring to "bugs".

Sally Ann Matthews, who portrays Jenny Connor on the cobbles, wrote on X: "That’s Jack. The real Jack. He’s ace. Nothing bugs him x #CBBUK. (sic)"

Jack is just 2/1 to head to the jungle next, and he is 3/1 to appear in this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

Several Corrie stars have donned their dancing shoes in a bid for Glitterball glory over the years, including Ellie Leach, who won series 21 in 2023, and Jack's on-screen sister Tina O'Brien (Sarah Platt) took part in 2010.

Jack may have felt more at home on ITV's Dancing On Ice, which was won by his co-star Sam Aston earlier this year, but the show has since been rested.

Colson has made no secret of his desire to do some TV presenting, and if Jack was to follow in his pal's footsteps he could end up hosting Good Morning Britain (8/1).

Following his CBB victory, Jack was interviewed on the ITV breakfast show.

When GMB presenter Susanna Reid asked what winning CBB will "give" him, in terms of another string to his bow, he joked: "I might be presenting Good Morning Britain. That's it."

Susanna's co-host Ed Balls then quipped: "I'm happy to stand aside. Can you do my link?"

Jack read the link with plenty of gusto and received a round of applause from the studio.

While his GMB audition went well, he is unlikely to be trying out for a movie role alongside CBB housemate Mickey Rourke anytime soon.

The Wrestler star was asked to leave the CBB house early after several controversies, and it's 33/1 that Jack and Mickey co-star on the big screen next.
