Mason Mount’s future is still up in the air, with the best betting sites unsure where he will be plying his trade next season.
Out of contract in 2024, the Chelsea midfielder looked set to seek pastures new this summer. He still might, of course, but that no longer seems like a certain outcome.
Mount has been a key player for the Blues for some time now, racking up 195 appearances since he broke into the first team in 2019/20.
The England international starred in Chelsea’s Champions League triumph in 2021, setting up the winning goal in the final, and has twice been named the club’s Player of the Year.
However, a contract stand-off has pushed him closer to the exit door and Chelsea may be forced to cash in on the academy product before the market closes for business on September 1.

United are still available at 4/5 with BetVictor to acquire the England international, but reports suggest they may be beginning to sound out other targets.
That suggests they are not willing to pay the upfront fee of £58m that Chelsea are said to be holding out for.
The fact United’s takeover saga is dragging on is not helping. As things stand it is far from certain that they will get their man in Mount.

He currently earns less than £100,000 a week and wants parity with the likes of Reece James on £250,000 a week.

Now in charge of Bayern Munich, Tuchel could yet persuade his superiors at the Allianz Arena to make a move for Mount.

Liverpool were linked with Mount towards the end of last term but they do not look set to pursue a move as things stand, as odds of 25/1 with football betting sites suggest.
Perhaps that is surprising: the England international would be a good stylistic fit and Liverpool need further reinforcements in midfield despite the addition of Alexis Mac Allister.
Mount’s availability is no secret though, and the fact Liverpool have not yet made an approach suggests they are not interested.
The Reds do not have hundreds of millions to spend, so their reluctance makes sense given Mount will be a free agent in 12 months’ time.

Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are both priced at 25/1 with betting apps too. PSG are not thought to be monitoring Mount’s situation too closely, so that one seems unlikely.
Arsenal have their attention trained elsewhere for now. Kai Havertz is on his way from Chelsea and Declan Rice is their top transfer target.
Manchester City are also interested in the latter though, and they could ultimately win the race for his signature.
That would force Arsenal to look elsewhere. Mount, who is a long-term friend of Rice’s, is not the same type of midfielder, but he would be able to play as a No.8 in the Gunners’ system.
