Mason Mount Next Club Odds: Man Utd Lead the Betting For His Signature

Chelsea are getting ready for what looks set to be a busy summer, and UK betting sites believe there will be outgoings as well as incomings at Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino has still not been confirmed as the club’s next manager, but there is little doubt that the Argentine will be in charge at the start of next season.
Before that, Pochettino will need to assess the players at his disposal to decide who he wants to keep and who he is happy to discard.
Mason Mount is one man who the new head coach would probably prefer to retain, but the Chelsea academy product faces an uncertain future regardless.
Out of contract in 2024, the Blues may choose to cash in on the midfielder this summer unless he agrees to put pen to paper on a new deal.
So, where will Mount be playing his football next term? Let’s take a look at the odds before assessing some of the main contenders to sign him.
Manchester United New Favourites To Land Mount
Manchester United have moved into pole position to sign Mount this summer, according to football betting sites.
The Red Devils are now priced at just 2/5 to land the 24-year-old after reports this week suggested Erik ten Hag is weighing up a move.
United are said to be willing to pay £55m for Mount, now that they have confirmed their spot in the Champions League.
Chelsea would find it hard to turn down such a sum given the player will be a free agent in just over 12 months’ time.
But there is a degree of uncertainty at Old Trafford right now, with the sale of the club dragging on and threatening to adversely affect United’s recruitment plans.
Chelsea Could Yet Persuade Mount To Stay Put
Chelsea have not given up hope of persuading Mount to commit his future to a club he first joined at the age of six.
The England international’s blend of technical ability and physical dynamism would appeal to Pochettino, who would no doubt like to make him a pillar of his team next term.
The problem for Chelsea is that the contract stand-off with Mount has lasted for months and months now.
Perhaps there is some brinkmanship on behalf of the player, who may feel he can land a better deal the longer the saga drags on.
Chelsea fans will not want to lose Mount, who was instrumental in their Champions League triumph in 2021. Yet the west Londoners are priced at only 9/2 to keep their two-time Player of the Year.
Arsenal Could Enter Race For The Chelsea Man
Granit Xhaka looks set to depart Arsenal this summer, with Bayer Leverkusen closing in on a deal for the Switzerland international.
Mikel Arteta is therefore on the lookout for someone to play on the left of his midfield three, and Mount has emerged as a strong contender.
Arsenal have work to do, though and they are priced at 9/2 with Bet365 as things stand.
The Gunners have certainly become a more attractive proposition this season, but they may struggle to match the wages that Manchester United can offer.
Liverpool Still In The Hunt For England International
Liverpool were previously at the front of the queue to acquire Mount, but they have drifted to 6/1 with Parimatch.
That is in large part due to Manchester United’s aggressive interest, but it may also have something to do with Liverpool’s preferences.
We can expect the Reds to be active in this summer’s market and there is certainly money to spend.
But Jurgen Klopp’s side pulled out of the race to sign Jude Bellingham because they need to spread the funds around.
Mount would probably cost a third of his international colleague’s mooted fee, but Liverpool may still believe better value can be found elsewhere.
What is more, the Merseysiders appear to be on the verge of agreeing a deal to sign Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.
Bayern Munich And Manchester City Unlikely Moves
Betting apps suggest Mount will be playing for Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal next season.
A move overseas is therefore unlikely, even though Bayern Munich have been linked with the Chelsea man in recent weeks.
The German giants are available at 16/1 to win the race for his signature, although even Bayern themselves probably acknowledge they are outsiders.
Meanwhile, there has been no signs that Pep Guardiola is considering a swoop for Mount, so it is safe to say he will not be plying his trade at the Etihad Stadium when the 2023/24 campaign and that's why Manchester City are a distant 33/1 with BetVictor to sign him.
