Mexico Open Betting Tips: 5 Selections From The Panel At Vidanta Vallarta

The PGA Tour heads to VidantaWorld for the fourth successive year for this week’s Mexico Open which unfortunately has struggled to attract a stellar field.
Jake Knapp won here 12 months ago in only the fifth start of his rookie season and is 40/1 with betting sites for a successful title defence.
This lengthy par-71 course sits close to Mexico’s Pacific coast and is characterised by wide fairways, large undulating greens, cavernous bunkers and plenty of water.
Length should be advantageous this week and those who have performed well here tend to be strong both off the tee and from tee to green.
With that in mind, The Panel have picked out a handful of Mexico Open betting tips from a range of markets.
Mexico Open Betting Tips: Smalley Can Launch Big Challenge
Alex Smalley fits the bill this week after a consistent start to the season which has yielded three top-25 finishes in four starts.
The American has missed the cut in his last two visits to Nuevo Vallarta, but was sixth on his debut three years ago.
Seventh in the Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green metrics, Smalley strikes the ball well over 300 yards on average which should help his cause, and his putting was also encouraging in his last outing at the Phoenix Open a fortnight ago.
Smalley has yet to win on the PGA Tour, but his form suggests he is not too far away from ending his drought and against a weakened field he looks a decent prospect.
The 28-year-old from Rochester, New York, can be backed at 35/1 with Betfred, but The Panel are taking double the places at 28/1 with Ladbrokes.
Mexico Open Prediction 1: Alex Smalley (Each-Way) - 28/1 With Ladbrokes (10 Places)

Mexico Open: Can Rodgers Finally Deliver?
Speaking of droughts, Patrick Rodgers addressed what he called the “monkey on his back” after taking the third-round lead at last week’s Genesis Invitational.
Now in his 11th season on Tour, Rodgers has yet to win a title in 283 starts, but his performances both at Torrey Pines and at this course suggest he is inching closer.
Ludvig Aberg ultimately triumphed with a closing 66, leaving Rodgers to reflect on another one that got way with a final-round 71 which left him in third place alongside Scottie Scheffler.
Neither the world number one, Aberg or Maverick McNealy, who withdrew from the Mexico Open following his runner-up finish, are playing this week, so Rodgers will hopefully be in the mix.
On the negative side, the demons may have descended after missing out on a golden opportunity and he is also playing in his seventh successive tournament.
However, he has finished inside the top 10 in his three visits to the Mexico Open and has to be considered at 20/1, although some golf betting sites go 25/1 with fewer places.
Mexico Open Prediction 2: Patrick Rodgers (Each-Way) - 20/1 With Ladbrokes (10 Places)
Mexico Open Preview: Jaeger Bomb Set For Explosive Display
One player who knows how to get across the line is Stephan Jaeger, who won the Houston Open almost a year ago.
The German has transformed himself into one of the longest hitters on tour over the last three years, so this 7,436-yard track could prove an ideal fit.
Jaeger posted top 20s in his two visits to Vidanta Vallarta and four weeks ago he was on the podium at the Sony Open in Hawaii in third place.
His form has dipped a bit since Waialae, but this course seems the perfect way to get back on track, especially against a field lacking quality.
If you want 10 places, Jaeger is available at 18/1, but The Panel are confident he can launch a bold bid this week and are taking the 25/1 with Betfred.
Mexico Open Prediction 3: Stephan Jaeger (Each-Way) - 25/1 With Betfred (Five Places)
Mexico Open Predictions: Sigg A Top-20 Chance
The Panel had some success in the top 20 market with Andrew Novak at 3/1 last week and Greyson Sigg could do the same in Mexico at 13/5 with betting apps.
Sigg was just outside the top 30 on his debut appearance at this course, but encouragingly he was 18th in 2023 and 19th a year ago.
Ninth at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, Sigg has enjoyed top-20 finishes in four of his last 10 starts, so he looks worth a whirl.
Mexico Open Prediction 4: Greyson Sigg Top 20 - 13/5 With Bet365

Mexico Open Golf Tips: Knapp Can Make Flying Start
Finally, Knapp caught The Panel’s eye at 50/1 to be first-round leader with BoyleSports this week.
The defending champion shot an opening-round 67 – four off the lead – en route to victory last year, and he has got off to some flying starts in recent weeks.
Knapp fired a 65 at Pebble Beach to sit just one shot off the lead and a week later at the Phoenix Open he was 11th heading into round two.
Last week, the long-hitting American was seventh at the end of Thursday’s play at Torrey Pines, so the evidence suggests he could burst out of the blocks once more.
Mexico Open Prediction 5: Jake Knapp First-Round Leader - 50/1 With BoyleSports (Six Places)
