Next Celebrity To Buy A UK Football Club Odds: Fury And Ibrahimovic Favourites

Sir Elton John was one of the first major global celebrities to purchase a football club when he invested in his beloved Watford in 1976, and many more stars have followed since.
More recently, Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have bought Wrexham, and rapper Snoop Dogg became a co-owner of Swansea City in July 2025 - but as the curtain closes on the 2025/26 season, betting sites are buzzing about which celebrity will invest in a UK football club next.
Several stars have become minority owners over the years, including NFL icon Tom Brady at Championship side Birmingham City, and fellow former American football star JJ Watt, who has an interest at Burnley.
What's more, Oscar winner Michael B Jordan joined the Bournemouth ownership group in 2022; YouTuber KSI and former Premier League striker Andy Carroll are minority owners at non-league Dagenham & Redbridge FC; Ed Sheeran has financial and fan interest at Ipswich; and Will Ferrell is a minority shareholder at Leeds.
Rapper Stormzy is part of a three-man consortium who purchased AFC Croydon Athletic, alongside former Premier League winger Wilfried Zaha.
The big question, though, is which star will be next to take some kind of ownership of a football club in the UK?
More To Come From Fury And Zlatan
Former heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury is just 8/13 on betting apps to be the next celebrity football club owner, after he and former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic (also 8/13) were linked with Morecambe FC.
Fury recently moved from Morecambe to the Isle of Man, and he is keen to head back to Lancashire to seal a deal for his former local club.
The boxing icon is said to have had a word with Zlatan about coming on board while the pair filmed a World Cup advert in Warsaw, Poland, last week.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Tyson was talking to him about buying his local hometown club Morecambe FC.

"They want to buy the club and make a Netflix documentary called Rise of Morecambe together. Just like Ryan Reynolds did with Wrexham. Tyson and Zlatan have been great friends for years. Zlatan used to go to the gym with Tyson when he played for Man United."
It would make sense for Fury to part-acquire Morecambe, because his training gym is at the National League club's stadium.
But Tyson's friend, Saudi boxing chief Turki Al-Sheikh, is just 4/5 to be the next star to acquire a UK football club.
According to talkSPORT, Turki has been looking into investing in a British club, and Derby County are said to have caught his eye.
Rocky To Buy A Club ASAP?
US rapper and record producer A$AP Rocky has been busy with daddy duties since his partner, pop megastar Rihanna, gave birth to their third child in September.
But he's still just 8/11 to be the next celebrity to invest in a UK football club.
It comes after Rocky was linked with the purchase of Tranmere Rovers in 2024.

Although it didn't materialise, Tranmere owner Mark Palios joked at the time that he wanted a deal to be completed "ASAP".
Speaking about Rocky, Palios admitted to BBC Radio Merseyside that he was "of an age where it's not really something I'm desperately into, but I'm told he's very well regarded".
While the Tranmere ship may have sailed down the River Mersey, there could be other UK football clubs who might welcome investment from Rocky and Rihanna.

The former Manchester United major shareholder is just 5/4 to get back into football ownership, while Welsh actor Rhys Ifans is a 2/1 shot.
Scottish DJ Calvin Harris is 3/1 to follow in the footsteps of musicians Snoop and Sheeran, while TV presenter Paddy McGuinness - who is a big fan of newly-promoted Bolton Wanderers - is 5/1.
Swift Deal For UK Team?
Like Rocky and Rihanna, another showbiz power couple who could be dipping their toes into the UK football ownership pond are engaged pair Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.
NFL legend Kelce could get some tips from Brady and Watt, while it wouldn't be a surprise if Swift sought advice from one of her good pals, Ed Sheeran.
Swift and Kelce are just Evens to be the next celebrities to buy a UK football club, and several of their US compatriots might be interested, too.
Aston Villa fan Tom Hanks is an 11/10 chance, Everton supporter and fellow Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone is 11/8, and Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise is 6/4.
What's more, Notting Hill actor Hugh Grant is a 2/1 shot, and former Chelsea and England defender John Terry - who has been strongly linked to acquiring Colchester United - is just 4/6.
