Next Strictly Come Dancing Host Odds: Who Could Replace Claudia And Tess?

Strictly Come Dancing bosses are yet to reveal who will be taking over co-hosting duties from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, but several big-name stars are in contention on betting sites. 

Tess and Claudia bowed out of the coveted role last year, but with a new series expected to get under way in September, there are only six months left for Strictly producers to complete their search. 

According to The Sun on Sunday newspaper, bosses are expected to continue with an all-woman presenting line-up - but who is in the frame?

Zoe Vs Emma 

Zoe Ball and Emma Willis are said to be the two frontrunners for Tess' job, and bosses are expected to secure a "female comedy personality" for Claudia's former position. 

Former Strictly: It Takes Two presenter Zoe has been promoted to 10/11 favourite on betting apps to land the job, but ex-Big Brother presenter Emma isn't far behind at Evens. 

A source told The Sun on Sunday: "It’s a straight shoot-out between Zoe, who is the frontrunner, and Emma.

"Only one will get it, not both. The senior execs want a traditional presenter working alongside a more left-field person, a female stand-up comedian."

One TV presenter who could assume that role is Alison Hammond. 

The This Morning and Great British Bake Off host - who took part in Strictly in 2014 - is a 3/1 shot to become one of the Latin and ballroom show's new hosts, and It Takes Two presenter Fleur East is 5/1. 

Amanda Holden has also been linked to Claudia's old job, but she has distanced herself from the role. 

The Britain's Got Talent judge told the Daily Mail: "You see, I am already part of a big show, and I'll happily carry on watching Strictly from the comfort of my lounge, but it takes up too many weekends. I've got to remember that I have children and a husband.

"But I just hope that they still have two females doing it, that's my big thing. They need somebody super funny, and somebody that you wouldn't expect."

Is Alex The One? 

The One Show host Alex Jones might fit the bill.

Sources recently told The Mail on Sunday that Kate Phillips, the BBC’s chief content officer, "has her heart set" on Alex stepping into either Tess or Claudia's shoes. 

She is 11/10 third favourite to land the job, and according to Tess' husband Vernon Kay, she has the credentials to front the programme. 

He told Metro: "Alex Jones should be on the floor. She is probably the funniest presenter I've worked with.

"With the formalities of The One Show, I don't think she gives the audience the opportunity to see her funny and irreverent side.

"She'd be perfect because she is one of the best in a live TV scenario. Absolutely brilliant."

Vernon believes Alex should succeed his wife Tess and he picked Rylan Clark as the ideal choice for Claudia's position.

The former Big Brother's Bit on the Side host is a 7/2 chance to co-host Strictly, but he will be scuppered if bosses go down the all-female route again. 

If a man does get the nod then Gladiators host Bradley Walsh (4/1) might also be in the frame. 

Hannah's Strictly Goal? 

But if bosses want a big-name female star to take over from Tess and Claudia they won't get much bigger than Hollywood star Hannah Waddingham. 

The Ted Lasso actress is a 2/1 chance to sign up for the BBC show, and former Strictly judge Dame Arlene Phillips thinks the Emmy winner would be a perfect two-for-one selection. 

She told the Daily Mirror: "I think Hannah Waddingham would smash it! She could be Claudia and Tess all in one. 

"I thought the way she delivered Eurovision was spectacular, but Claudia and Tess are a very hard act to follow."

Arlene also isn't convinced that former This Morning host Holly Willoughby (6/1) will get the job, insisting: "I imagine that they would go out of the box, but she’s a good host."

A more likely Strictly presenter could be Angela Scanlon (6/4). 

She appears to be a huge favourite at the corporation after recently securing the presenter role on The Apprentice's new-look spin-off show - The Apprentice: Unfinished Business. 

She has also been linked to The Celebrity Traitors, and is no stranger to Strictly after finishing sixth in 2023's 21st series, alongside her professional partner Carlos Gu. 

Carlos has even tipped his pal to host Strictly - after dreaming that Angela and Ashley Banjo (10/1) had landed the presenting roles. 

He recently told the Daily Star: "I would love to actually see a male host and I did dream about it! I dreamt that it would be Ashley Banjo and Angela Scanlon."
