Week six of the 2023 NFL season ended the unbeaten winning starts of the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles, who suffered losses to the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets, respectively.
Both teams are now standing at 5-1, as are a rampant Miami Dolphins, Super Bowl champs, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Detroit Lions, who have built further on an excellent second half of last season.
Here are our selections for this weekend’s week seven games using the best odds from UK betting sites.
Lions Can Edge Win Over The Ravens
There is little to choose between the Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens, but betting apps could still be underrating the Lions, and they get our vote to continue their excellent start to the season.
They won eight of their last 10 regular season games in 2022 and, this term, have made their best start to a season since 2011. A one-point win over Kansas City on the season's opening night set the tone, and coach Dan Campbell has instilled a can-win mentality in the team.
The one loss from their six games this season came against the Seattle Seahawks in overtime. In four games since, they have dominated against the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winning all by 14 points or more.
Running back David Montgomery sustained a rib injury in the last of those games and is very doubtful to make Sunday’s starting line-up, which is a blow.
On the upside, quarterback Jared Goff has never been better and is on course to have his best season for the Lions since joining them for the 2021 campaign.
He threw an impressive season-high 44 times with 30 completions and two touchdowns against the Buccaneers. Goff delivered some great throws and is likely to prove troublesome for the Ravens defence if, as expected, he hits his targets again on Sunday.
The Ravens have had a solid enough start to the season, and their defence has been primarily responsible.
They will be tough to break down, but the Lions have proven they can mix it with the best this season and are 3-0 on the road. They make plenty of appeal and can continue their fine start to the season.

Chiefs Can Take The Streak To Six
Since losing by a single point to the Detroit Lions on the opening night of the 2023 season, the Kansas City Chiefs have gone unbeaten in five.
They face tough opposition on Sunday in the LA Chargers, who are better than their 2-3 record may suggest, but the Chiefs are tough to beat at the Arrowhead Stadium and are taken to overcome -4.5 points on the handicap.
Apart from the opening game, it has been business as usual for the Chiefs. Superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes has given the impression that he has not hit top gear yet, but his stats are shaping up nicely, and he can lead the charge for the home side.
Tight end Travis Kelce should be back to peak fitness, running back Isiah Pacheco is as effective as ever, and rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice continues to grow in stature, building a good understanding with Mahomes.
The defensive unit has been keeping things tidy, so there is little reason to suppose the Chiefs cannot break out and beat the Chargers with something to spare.

Commanders To Continue Points Flurry
The Washington Commanders make the trip to the New York Giants in a game that promises to be high-scoring. NFL betting sites have set the bar too low on this matchup at 37.5 points.
Apart from their opening game against Arizona (won 20-16), the Commanders (3-3) have yet to be involved in a game where the total has dipped below 40, and they have gone 60 points or more on three occasions.
Both teams are in the NFC East and the 12 games they have played in have totalled 45 points plus average.
The New York Giants (1-5) have faced some of the elite NFL teams and, not surprisingly, have struggled so far this season. However, against a leaky defence, they should get plenty of opportunities to put points on the board.

Green Bay To Be Involved In A Score Fest
The Green Bay Packers are another outfit that does not play in low-scoring games, and their visit to the Denver Broncos is likely to produce a similar outcome.
The Packers' high-scoring offence, led by their quarterback Jordan Love, is expected to present a formidable challenge to the Broncos' defence.
Although they have had a mixed bag of results so far this campaign, one thing has been a constant, points!
The Broncos did well to hold the Chiefs to 11 points in their latest game, but their overall form has been moderate at best, and they have conceded a stack of points so far this season.
That average form is one that is sure to be capitalised on by the Packers, and similarly to our prior selection, new betting sites expect a flurry of points in this contest.
A total of 45 points or more certainly looks achievable.
