Premier League Free Agents: Next Club Odds

The summer transfer window is in full swing, and there are plenty of free agents from the Premier League on the market.
Hundreds of footballers are now looking for new employers, and their agents are making several calls on behalf of their clients.
We have highlighted a handful of players and imagined where they might end up, according to the best betting sites.
Christian Eriksen
Christian Eriksen is no longer a Manchester United player after the club opted against offering him a new deal. So, what lies in store for the Dane?
Eriksen has not played in the country of his birth since he was a youth player with OB 17 years ago, so it would be unsurprising if he opted for a homecoming with Danish champions FC Copenhagen.
Wolves lost two key players during the summer transfer window when Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri headed to the red and blue half of Manchester respectively, so manager Vitor Pereira may want a cool head in the heart of midfield for the forthcoming season.
Christian Eriksen Next Club Odds:
Club | Odds | Probability |
Copenhagen | 5/4 | 44.4% |
Wolves | 7/4 | 36.4% |
Ajax | 5/2 | 20% |
Brentford | 4/1 | 20% |
Ajax blew the Eredivisie title last season and they will probably spend the summer adding more experience to their squad - Eriksen would help immensely.
The 33-year-old revived his career at Brentford after suffering a cardiac arrest while representing his country. The Bees' new manager Keith Andrews could do with an experienced player like Eriksen, even with Jordan Henderson in the squad.
Danny Ings
The experienced striker is out of contract following his departure from West Ham, but where will he end up?
Middlesbrough start a new era under Rob Edwards, who would be thrilled to have a player of Ings' quality to lead a potential promotion bid in the Championship.
Birmingham won promotion to the Championship last time out and have been linked with the 32-year-old forward, who would no doubt score plenty of goals in the second tier.
Danny Ings Next Club Odds:
Club | Odds | Probability |
Middlesbrough | Evens | 50% |
Birmingham | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Southampton | 9/4 | 30.8% |
Wrexham | 3/1 | 25% |
Ings enjoyed arguably the best period of his career at St Mary’s Stadium, where the Southampton faithful would welcome him back with open arms.
Wrexham will be playing Championship football next season, with Ings thought to be a major target as they seek to bolster their attacking options.
Nelson Semedo
When Wolves paid Barcelona £27.5m for the services of Nelson Semedo, they landed a bargain.
The versatile player, who can play right-back or right wing-back, represented the Molineux club 165 times before his contract expired on June 30.
Nelson Semedo Next Club Odds:
Club | Odds | Probability |
Benfica | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Besiktas | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Manchester United | 3/1 | 25% |
Any Saudi Club | 4/1 | 20% |
Semedo will be on the radar of many clubs looking for a player with his experience, but a move away from England looks likely.
Benfica, Besiktas and a switch to Saudi Arabia seem most likely, while Manchester United are also among the clubs who could be interested in signing the 31-year-old defender.
Abdoulaye Doucoure
The 32-year-old midfielder rejected an offer to stay at Everton when his contract expired at the end of the season.
Manager David Moyes revealed the Mali international had received a better offer elsewhere, but where could it be?
Premier League newcomers Leeds are the early favourites as many of their players lack top-flight experience.
Abdoulaye Doucoure Next Club Odds:
Club | Odds | Probability |
Leeds | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Sunderland | 9/4 | 30.8% |
Burnley | 3/1 | 25% |
Rangers | 4/1 | 20% |
Sunderland and Burnley are also gearing up for a return to the Premier League and could be fighting it out for Doucoure's signature.
Doucoure, though, may decide to head to Scotland, where new Rangers boss Russell Martin would appreciate the combative nature of a player capable of playing in deep or advanced positions.
Willian
A second spell at Fulham has come to an end for the Brazilian, but where could he end up next?
Brazilian stars often end their careers back home after bidding farewell to Europe, so it is no surprise that Corinthians are the favourites on football betting sites for the 36-year-old's signature.
Club World Cup semi-finalists Fluminense could be another possible landing spot.
Willian Next Club Odds:
Club | Odds | Probability |
Corinthians | 6/5 | 45.6% |
Fluminense | 7/5 | 41.7% |
Any MLS Club | 3/1 | 25% |
Any Saudi Club | 4/1 | 20% |
Willian has been spoken of as a potential target for teams in MLS, who are always in the market for talented but ageing players who have shone in the Premier League.
Saudi Arabia is another retirement home these days, with the money on offer hard to turn down. Will Willian be the next high-profile star on his way to the Gulf?
Victor Lindelof
Manchester United have finally called time on Lindelof’s tenure at Old Trafford, so who will snap him up ahead of the new season?
Sunderland will need an experienced defender to deal with the rigours of the Premier League, and the Swede would surely fit the bill.
Lindelof starred for Benfica before his transfer to United in 2017, and the Portuguese team are second favourites on betting apps to bring the centre-half back to Lisbon.
Victor Lindelof Next Club Odds:
Club | Odds | Probability |
Sunderland | 7/4 | 36.4% |
Benfica | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Everton | 11/4 | 26.7% |
Malmo | 3/1 | 25% |
Everton fans are full of hope as they prepare for their first game at their new stadium, and the addition of a battle-hardened centre-back would go down well with the Toffees faithful.
The defender might fancy a return to his homeland, and a move to Malmo might appeal.
Ashley Young
Young has spent 19 years playing top-flight football in England and Italy, but his time at Everton was brought to a close at the end of the season.
The versatile player turned 40 in July, but he has no plans to retire and is attracting attention from his former club Watford.
Burnley are back in the Premier League and are second favourites to bring the former Manchester United and Aston Villa player to Turf Moor.
Ashley Young Next Club Odds:
Club | Odds | Probability |
Watford | 4/5 | 55.6% |
Burnley | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Wrexham | 3/1 | 25% |
Charlton | 9/2 | 18.2% |
Wrexham's fairytale/Hollywood rise through the divisions shows no sign of abating under their famous owners, and Young could play a big part in an unlikely promotion push into the Premier League.
Charlton joined Wrexham in the Championship via the play-offs, and Young's experience of playing at a high level could be invaluable to manager Nathan Jones.
