Premier League Top Assists Betting Odds: Kieran Trippier Favourite To Win

The race to finish as the Premier League’s top scorer invariably receives plenty of coverage, but UK betting sites also have a market on who will finish as the most prolific assister in 2023/24.
England’s top flight is home to numerous inventive players, not all of whom ply their trade for the division’s leading lights.
We have taken a look at the assists market, analysing the odds and assessing the various contenders for the creative crown.
Salah And Foden Could Be In Contention
Mohamed Salah was the subject of strong interest from the Saudi Pro League towards the end of the summer transfer window, but Liverpool insisted their star player was not for sale and they refused to budge from that stance.
Just as well. Selling Salah would have in effect meant Liverpool writing off their season.
With the Egypt international fit and firing, Jurgen Klopp’s team could be title contenders. As well as scoring goals, Salah has set up four this term. He is 10/1 to be the top assister in 2023/24.
Phil Foden is fourth on the list at a best price of 12/1 with BetUK. Manchester City are certain to score plenty of goals as they strive to win a fourth title on the bounce.
Foden is an excellent creator, whether he starts in a central berth or out wide.
The main doubt is whether he will play enough. Foden is one of several attacking options at Pep Guardiola’s disposal.
Unlike some of the other candidates on this list, he is not guaranteed to start week in, week out. That could harm his chances.
Saka And Alexander-Arnold Among The Outsiders
Bukayo Saka is another of those players who starts whenever he is fully fit.
The Arsenal forward is one of his team’s most important players and he regularly creates opportunities for those around him.
Saka has provided three assists so far, so there is ground to make up. But the England international has plenty of time on his side and he plays for one of the strongest sides in the division.
Saka is therefore an outsider - but potentially an attractive one - at 14/1 with William Hill.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is another option at 16/1. The Liverpool right-back has been the Premier League’s leading assister in the past, but he has had a few injury issues to deal with of late.
Alexander-Arnold is still a contender, though. Andy Robertson is on the sidelines for a while so the right-back’s creativity will be even more vital to Liverpool in the next few months.
Watkins And Fernandes Have Work To Do
Ollie Watkins is more of a scorer than a provider, but he started the season with more assists to his name than goals.
The Aston Villa man is an all-round centre-forward, so we can expect him to continue laying on chances for his team-mates as well as boosting his own goal tally.
Not many strikers finish as a season’s top assister, though, and odds of 20/1 on betting apps show that Watkins is a rank outsider in this market. There are better choices than the England international.
Bruno Fernandes would ordinarily be a strong contenders for this award, but he is way down the ranking at 25/1.
Given the level of dysfunction at Manchester United, it is hard to see the Portuguese schemer outperforming the other names listed here.
Fernandes is an excellent player but he has not been at his best in the first 10 games of the campaign.
