Premier League Top Assists Betting Odds: Alexander-Arnold Has Stiff Competition

Erling Haaland is already at the top of the Premier League goals chart and the UK betting sites consider him the odds-on favourite to win the Golden Boot.
The race to be the top assister in the division promises to be closer, though.
Kevin De Bruyne was the leading candidate before the campaign got under way, but he will be out until December with a hamstring injury.
Phil Foden, Pedro Neto, James Ward-Prowse and Kaoru Mitoma currently lead the way with three apiece, but we are still very early in the season and plenty will change between now and May.
Which player will be the foremost provider in the Premier League this term? Check out the odds below and then read our analysis of the various contenders.
Alexander-Arnold The Favourite To Finish Top Of Charts
Trent Alexander-Arnold might be a full-back on paper, but he is so much more than that in reality.
With his pinpoint passing and wicked delivery from wide areas, Alexander-Arnold is Liverpool’s creator-in-chief.
Despite only being 24 years old, the England international has already racked up 55 assists in the Premier League.
Since the end of last season he has been given more license to move into midfield by Jurgen Klopp, who rates Alexander-Arnold extremely highly.
The Liverpool man is the favourite to be this season’s top assister at a best price of 7/1 with William Hill.
He has set up one goal so far in 2023/24 but that tally will no doubt rise in the weeks ahead.
Foden Has Chance To Take De Bruyne’s Mantle
There has been much debate about Phil Foden’s best position over the last couple of weeks.
Gareth Southgate has been criticised for deploying the England international out wide, but he defended himself by pointing out that Pep Guardiola tends to use Foden in that role too.
De Bruyne’s injury has opened up a central berth in the Manchester City side, but it is by no means guaranteed that Foden will be starting there week in, week out.
That is one reason to be cautious about taking up odds of 9/1 on the City starlet ending the campaign as the league’s most prolific provider.
On the other hand, Foden has already created three goals for team-mates and he is playing for the best team in the country, so being on the pitch for 90 minutes every match is not strictly necessary to post good numbers.
Fernandes And Maddison Are Both Natural Creators
Manchester United handed the captain’s armband to Bruno Fernandes over the summer.
It was a decision that divided opinion, mainly because of the Portuguese’s tendency to moan on the pitch.
But in terms of performances, there is no doubt that Fernandes is integral to United’s fortunes.
The skipper is available at 10/1 with football betting sites to win this race. Whether he operates from a central role or out wide with an ability to drift inside, Fernandes oozes creativity.
The same is true of the Premier League's August Player of the Month James Maddison, who has made a superb start to life at Tottenham Hotspur.
The England international has been one of the stars of the season so far and he can also be backed at 10/1 to be the Premier League’s leading creator.
Salah And Mitoma Can Set Up Goals As Well As Score Them
Despite strong interest from Saudi Arabia’s Pro League right up until that country’s transfer deadline, Liverpool succeeded in keeping hold of Mohamed Salah.
The Egypt international may well end up leaving next summer, but for now he remains the first name on the team sheet at Anfield.
Primarily renowned for his ability to put the ball in the back of the net, Salah also creates goals for others. That is why he is available at 14/1 with Unibet in this market.
Kaoru Mitoma had only just made his Premier League bow this time last year, but he is already one of the division’s most thrilling attackers and he too is priced at 14/1.
Grealish And Saka Could Be There Or Thereabouts
After a mixed first season at Manchester City, Jack Grealish was back to his best last time out.
He was a hugely important player for Pep Guardiola’s side as they won the treble, with Grealish contributing five goals and seven assists in the Premier League.
He will need to up that tally if he is to beat the rest of these players to the assist gong, but there are worse bets than Grealish at 14/1.
Bukayo Saka (14/1) is listed at the same price as Arsenal look to secure a Premier League top four finish at the very least.
The Gunners wide man is impressively consistent and he may well get into double figures for both goals and assists this term.
