Ted Lasso Season 4 Odds: Temple Cut For Return As Apple Confirms New Series

Ted Lasso's fourth season has now been confirmed by the powers that be at Apple TV+, but it was up to leading man Jason Sudeikis to provide some plot details.
The actor will reprise his role as the title character, soccer coach Ted Lasso, and Jason has confirmed his alter-ego will coach a women's team in the fourth series.
Speaking on Jason and Travis Kelce's podcast New Heights, he said: "We’re writing Season 4 now, that’s the official word. Ted’s coaching a women’s team."
It comes after the season three finale hinted that the final whistle had blown on the show - but we are now into extra-time.
While the programme looked to be done, the finale did hint at a potential spin-off when Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) presented a women's team proposal to AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham).
Following the exciting news about a fourth season, betting sites have been busy speculating which characters might return to the show.
It's known Sudeikis will reprise his role as Ted, and he will also be an executive producer alongside Brett Goldstein and Brendan Hunt, who plays Coach Beard.
Brett is best known for playing Roy Kent in the show, and he will also serve as a writer and exec producer in the new series.
Temple's Talks
With Goldstein and Hunt set for work behind the camera, it would be a huge surprise if they didn't also film in front of the camera, too, and Hannah and Jeremy Swift, who plays Leslie Higgins, are also expected to make returns.
However, Juno is yet to sign on the dotted line.
Sources have told Deadline that the actress is in talks to reprise her role as Keeley in the fourth season.
And she is now into 1/5 to do so after the new series was confirmed to be about a women's team, following the character's proposal to Rebecca.
What's more, in the Apple press release confirming a fourth season of Ted Lasso, Jason spoke about a leap of faith for some of the characters in the new series.
He said: "As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to 'look before we leap.'

"In season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be."
This appears to be a reference to the women's team.
However, what does that mean for Richmond's male footballers?
While the likes of coaching staff Hunt and Goldstein are expected to return for another instalment, and Nick Mohammed is into Evens to be back as coach Nate Shelley, there is yet to be any rumblings about the AFC Richmond playing staff.
Phil Dunster is out to 8/1 to return as star player Jamie Tartt, and Toheeb Jimoh is now 9/1 to be back as Sam Obisanya.
What's more, Kola Bokinni is a big 10/1 to make a comeback as AFC Richmond captain Isaac McAdoo.
Lionesses To Roar In Season 4
Following confirmation about Ted coaching a women's team in the new series, several former professional women's players have been linked to cameos.
Ex-England Lionesses Jill and Alex Scott are Evens and 11/8 respectively to appear in the show, and Eni Aluko is just 2/1 to reprise her role as street soccer star Georgia, who appeared in series two.
Several of England's current Lionesses could also pop up in the new series.
Mary Earps - who won the 2023 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award - is 11/10 to make a cameo, and that could look quite short if the AFC Richmond women's team go on tour to the French capital, because she is the current Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper.

Former Chelsea manager Emma Hayes (3/1) is now working across the pond as manager of the United States women's national team, so she could get the nod, and some of America's legendary players could make cameos in the series, too.
Alex Morgan is just 4/1, Megan Rapinoe is a 5/1 chance and Mia Hamm is 12/1.
Micah New Favourite
Some of the AFC Richmond players have been loosely based on real-life footballers.
However, with the male playing staff drifting in price for a potential season four return, Roy Keane and Jack Grealish - who are thought to be inspirations behind Kent and Tartt - are out to 3/1 and 7/2 for cameos in season four, from 6/4 and 7/4.
Thierry Henry and Gary Lineker have previously played themselves as soccer pundits in the show, and they are both now into 6/4 to return for further cameos.

Ex-Liverpool star Peter Crouch is into 2/1 to cameo in season four, after he previously featured in series two and three via his That Peter Crouch Podcast, and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola - who played himself in season three - is 4/1 to be back for more in season four.
