The Gentlemen Series 2 Odds: Dockery And McConaughey Frontrunners For Cameos

Netflix hit The Gentlemen is gearing up for a second series – and it looks set to be a smoking hot renewal if the latest news on UK betting sites is anything to go by.

A new billboard to promote the Guy Ritchie show appeared in London recently, but part of the sign was obscured by a huge joint, which looked to be burning.

As it burnt down, the message “Roll on season two” became visible to onlookers.

Netflix recently confirmed Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson and Vinnie Jones will all reprise their roles for series two.

Several exciting new cast members have also been announced, which has impacted the male and female cameo markets.

Downton Cameo

Among the series two newcomers is Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville.

Netflix have remained tight-lipped on who Hugh might portray in the returning series, but his casting has sparked speculation that he could reunite with a former co-star.

Hugh starred opposite Michelle Dockery for years in Downton Abbey, portraying her on-screen father Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham, on both the small and big screens.

Michelle also has a strong connection to The Gentlemen, having appeared in the 2019 Ritchie film of the same name.

Following Bonneville's casting, she is 10/11 favourite on betting apps to be one of the actresses making a cameo in the series.

In the film version of The Gentlemen, Dockery portrayed Rosalind Pearson, the wife of main character Mickey Pearson. If she is to return in the TV series, then Mickey could too.

He was portrayed by Matthew McConaughey on the big screen, and the Hollywood star is Evens favourite in the male actors market to appear in the series.

Eubank Reunion

Another male star who could step into The Gentlemen ring is former professional boxer Chris Eubank.

He is 6/4 for a cameo in the Netflix show after his son, professional fighter Chris Eubank Jr, landed a role in the programme. Like Bonneville, it is not yet known who Eubank Jr will portray.

Eubank Sr and Jr have had a fractured relationship in the past, but they surprised fans when they reunited at the 35-year-old boxer’s fight against Conor Benn in April.

Other stars in contention for a cameo in The Gentlemen series two include Eiza Gonzalez.

Following Dockery’s rise to female favourite, Gonzalez is now Evens second favourite to appear in the series.

She is fresh from working with director Ritchie on the war film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which also featured Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill (3/1) and Reacher star Alan Ritchson (5/1).

Ritchie has been full of praise for Gonzalez since she filmed the motion picture, and she and Cavill look set to reunite with the filmmaker for his upcoming movie In the Grey.

Maya's Helping Hand

Love Island presenter Maya Jama has been confirmed as one of the new cast members in The Gentlemen.

The news came as a surprise to some, as Jama is not widely known for acting, although she did appear in comedian Katherine Ryan’s comedy-drama series The Duchess in 2020.

While Maya has made a name for herself as a TV presenter and as a judge on The Masked Singer, it remains to be seen what kind of role she will take in The Gentlemen, and whether it leads to further acting opportunities.

Away from the screen, she previously dated rapper and singer Stormzy, but admitted earlier this year that the former couple are now in the “friendship zone” following their latest break-up.

Following Maya’s casting, her friend Stormzy is a 9/2 shot for a cameo. He is no stranger to acting, having appeared in the 2020 TV drama Noughts + Crosses and the 2016 crime drama film Brotherhood.

Former footballer Jones is one of The Gentlemen stars returning for a second series and could be joined by another ex-Premier League player, with David Beckham 5/4 for a cameo.

Like Stormzy, Beckham is not a renowned film or TV actor, but the former England captain is a close friend of Ritchie. He was directed by him in the 2017 movie King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

Charlie Hunnam and Jude Law also featured in that film, and they are 7/2 and 4/1 respectively for The Gentlemen guest roles.
