The Great New Year's Bake Off Odds: Who Will Win Latest One-Off Special?

We were treated to a Great British Bake Off Peep Show special over Christmas, and we are set to see in 2026 with a one-off new year episode featuring several former tent favourites.

The Great New Year's Bake Off will see Val Stones, Selasi Gbormittah, Briony Williams, Tasha Stones, Giuseppe Dell'Anno, Rahul Mandal, Andy Ryan and Nelly Ghaffar return to the famous tent, and there's a competitive outright market on betting sites

However, there looks set to be two winners of the coveted cake stand in the new year special, because for the first-time ever the stars will compete in pairs.

The eight former Bake Off stars will take to the festively-decorated tent in teams of two, where they will be tasked with creating festive pies in the Signature challenge.

In the Technical task, the duos will be part of a relay, before the pairings have to recreate their favourite festive film in biscuit form for the all-important Showstopper.

Dame Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood will be judging the Bake Off stars, and Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding are back to host the New Year's Day special.

Festive Frontrunners Rahul And Giuseppe

Rahul heads into the new year special on a Bake Off hat-trick.

He triumphed in 2018's ninth series, before returning to the tent for the 2021 New Year's special, which he also won.

His 2026 partner Giuseppe is also no stranger to Bake Off success after he won 2021's 12th series, and the pair appear to be the duo to beat heading into the 2026 one-off spectacle.

Rahul and Giuseppe are 6/4 favourites on betting apps for further Bake Off glory.

But, Briony knows all about baking against Rahul, who beat her to the season nine title.

She narrowly missed out on a place in that year's final, after exiting at the semi-final stage, but she does have past experience of triumphing in the tent.

In 2019, Briony won The Great Christmas Bake Off, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see her record a second seasonal Bake Off victory in 2026.

After The Great New Year's Bake Off line-up was announced, she wrote on Instagram: "Yasssssss!!!!!! What a dream to be back in the tent such an awesome group of humans!!! Xx (sic)"

Briony will partner up with season 14's Tasha Stones, who, like Briony, also exited her series in the semi-final.

Selasi And Val's Festive Return

Briony and Tasha looks set to push Rahul and Giuseppe all the way in the new year special.

They are 15/8 second favourites for festive Bake Off victory, but the other two pairings shouldn't be underestimated.

Like Briony, Selasi also came a cropper in his Patisserie Week semi-final in season seven.

He is partnering up with fellow series seven star Val Stones for the 2026 special, and Val will be hoping to do better than her Week Five exit in 2016.

She lost out in Pastry Week, so will no doubt want to impress judges Prue and Paul when making festive pies in The Great New Year's Bake Off's Signature challenge.

Selasi and Val both took part in The Great Christmas Bake Off 2017, during which she called Selasi her "favourite adopted son".

However, Paul Jagger beat them both to the festive Star Baker title that year.

Despite previous Bake Off form, Selasi and Val shouldn't be underestimated, and they aren't too far away from Briony and Tasha at 2/1 third favourites.

Andy's Pastry Pressure?

Season 15 star Andy could also come under pressure in the first task of the festive special.

Like Val, he also departed the tent in Pastry Week during his series.

However, Andy cannot wait to return to the Channel 4 show on New Year's Day.

He wrote on Instagram: "Over the moon to go back in the tent with these legends. I'm a lucky guy!"

Andy is paired with his fellow season 15 baker Nelly Ghaffar for the 2026 special.

In series 15, Nelly followed Andy out of the exit door a week later during Autumn Week, and the pair are propping up The Great New Year's Bake Off market at 3/1
