The Inbetweeners Odds: Hit Comedy Odds-On To Return For Third Movie

The Inbetweeners is set to make a triumphant return, and the lads are odds-on on betting sites to hit the big screen yet again.
Show creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley have penned a deal for their Fudge Park Productions company to join forces with production giant Banijay UK to create a return of the hit comedy.
That means Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, Blake Harrison and James Buckley are more than likely to return as their respective characters Will MacKenzie, Simon Cooper, Neil Sutherland and Jay Cartwright.
Iain and Damon said: "It’s incredibly exciting to be plotting more adventures for our four favourite friends (ooh, friends)."
Production company Banijay UK's chief executive Patrick Holland admitted he is "delighted" to be working on a future Inbetweeners project alongside the pair, adding: "They have an infectious creative vision for the brand which will resonate with audience old and new, so I can’t wait to get going."
Simon's Vegas Stag?
It's yet to be confirmed how the famous four will return - be it a third movie, another TV series, a one-off episode or a stage production.
A film is 4/6 favourite on betting apps, after Joe recently had an idea for the lads' chaotic comeback.
Speaking on the Always Be Comedy podcast, he said: "A movie, I think, works with the right idea. It would be challenging to do another series, just because of the timeline.
"But with the film, there are all sorts of options."
The Inbetweeners Odds: Next Project:
Project | Odds | Probability |
Film | 4/6 | 60% |
TV Series | 6/4 | 40% |
One-Off TV Episode | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Stage Show/Musical | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Other | 10/1 | 9.1% |
Joe went on to suggest a stag do in Las Vegas could be the perfect setting for the lads to get up to no good again.
Should that turn out to be the case, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the four pals head to Vegas for his character Simon's stag do.
During the TV series, Simon was best known for his infatuation with family friend Carli D'Amato.
While the pair eventually hooked up in the first Inbetweeners movie, Simon dumped Carli after realising she was just using him.
He's been in a couple of other relationships across the three TV series and the two films.
In series three, Simon briefly dated Tara Brown, who was portrayed by Joe's real-life significant other, Hannah Tointon.
The Inbetweeners Odds: Which Stars/ Characters Will Return:
Actor | Character | Odds | Probability |
Greg Davies | Mr Gilbert | 1/3 | 75% |
Emily Head | Carli D'Amato | 4/9 | 69.2% |
Belinda Stewart-Wilson | Polly McKenzie | 8/11 | 57.9% |
Hannah Tointon | Tara Brown | Evens | 50% |
David Schaal | Terry Cartwright | 11/8 | 42.1% |
Alex Macqueen | Kevin Sutherland | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Emily Atack | Charlotte Hinchcliffe | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Robin Weaver | Pamela Cooper | 3/1 | 25% |
Martin Trenaman | Alan Cooper | 3/1 | 25% |
Tamla Kari | Lucy | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Theo James | James | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Emily Berrington | Katie Evans | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Laura Haddock | Alison | 10/1 | 9.1% |
Hannah is Evens to reprise her role in the new Inbetweeners project, but it's just 4/9 that Emily Head returns as Carli.
In the second Inbetweeners film, Simon is in a relationship with abuser Lucy - played by Tamla Kari - but the pair split after she cheats on him.
Despite this, Tamla is 5/1 to return as Lucy in an Inbetweeners return.
Mr Gilbert's Return
Another candidate for an Inbetweeners stag could be Will's nemesis, Mr Gilbert, brilliantly played by Greg Davies.
Will had frequent run-ins with the head of sixth form at school, and he had the shock of his life at the end of the second movie when it was revealed that Gilbert and Will's mum, Polly McKenzie, had got engaged.
Could Will's mum force Mr Gilbert to take the lads on his stag? It would be a classic Inbetweeners plot, and Greg is just 1/3 to reprise his role, while Belinda is 8/11 to be back as Polly.

Emily Atack is 5/2 to return for the new Inbetweeners project as her character Charlotte Hinchcliffe. Like Simon's fascination for Carli, Will had a similar infatuation for Charlotte throughout the series.
While Atack didn't appear in the first two movies, it would be a surprise to see her return as Charlotte for a third Inbetweeners movie, or a new TV series, after she appeared to be snubbed for their 2019 'Fwends Reunited' reunion episode.
When asked previously whether she would go back to The Inbetweeners, she said on Richard Herring's podcast: "I think sometimes in the industry things progress and move on."
Danny's Inbetweeners Cameo?
One of Emily's latest projects has seen her star opposite Danny Dyer in the Disney+ series Rivals, and the former EastEnders actor could land a cameo role in a future Inbetweeners project.
He is 6/4 favourite to make a guest appearance, and one of the main cast members could put in a good word for him.
Danny is close friends with James Buckley and his wife Clair, who is 5/1 to pop up in the next Inbetweeners film or TV show.
The Inbetweeners Odds: Cameos In Next Project
Actor | Odds | Probability |
Danny Dyer | 6/4 | 40% |
Aimee Lou Wood | 2/1 | 33.3% |
David Morrissey | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Ed Westwick | 3/1 | 25% |
Will Arnett | 7/2 | 22.2% |
Neil Morrissey | 4/1 | 20% |
Jack Whitehall | 9/2 | 18.2% |
Clair Buckley | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Bob Mortimer | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Rob Brydon | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Jamie Winstone | 10/1 | 9.1% |
Joe Swash | 12/1 | 7.7% |
One of Damon and Iain's latest Fudge Park Productions shows is BBC comedy Daddy Issues, and it wouldn't be a surprise if they enlisted the two main stars, Sex Education's Aimee Lou Wood (2/1) and Sherwood's David Morrissey (5/2), for an Inbetweeners cameo.
If the Vegas stag do movie does get made, then Inbetweeners bosses could call on Ed Westwick for a cameo.
The actor is no stranger to working in America after shooting to fame in the teen drama Gossip Girl.
He has also starred opposite Buckley and Thomas in Beesley's BBC sitcom White Gold, and is 3/1 to renew acquaintances with the trio in The Inbetweeners.
Other guest appearances may include Canadian-American actor and comedian Will Arnett, who starred in Damon and Iain's comedy The First Team.
Arnett is 7/2 to make an Inbetweeners cameo, and comedian Jack Whitehall, who appeared opposite Joe in Fresh Meat, is a 9/2 chance.
