Leverkusen had a less auspicious start, beaten on the opening day after conceding twice in the opening day at promoted Elversberg, and brushing aside a feeble Union Berlin last week to get their first points of the season on the board shouldn’t obscure some of the lingering concerns, not least that defence.

Lazio are thus one of three teams on maximum points so far, which few would have predicted after months of anger from the fans towards the club, though Gattuso’s crisis management and some smart and surprising late signings, including Frattesi, have lifted the mood.
Milan, who would have been level on points with them had they not conceded a stoppage-time goal to Federico Gatti at Juventus last time out, have only conceded two in three themselves under Ruben Amorim and showed in Turin that they know exactly how to smother their opposition in a big away game.
