Wilfried Gnonto Next Club Odds: Everton Favourites To Sign Wantaway Leeds Star
Wilfried Gnonto is still a Leeds United player for now but UK betting sites believe he could still move on before the transfer window closes.
English clubs have until September 1 to complete their business and history suggests there will be plenty of activity right up until the deadline.
Gnonto impressed despite Leeds’ relegation from the Premier League last term, and the club’s supporters were puzzled when he was left out of the team at times during Javi Gracia’s short tenure.
The Italy international is a huge talent and it is no surprise to see several clubs being linked with a swoop for him.
Where will Gnonto be playing his football for the majority of the 2023/24 campaign? Let’s take a look at some of the contenders to sign him.
Analysing The Betting Trends: Will Wilfried Gnonto Join Everton?
Everton have scored zero goals in their first two games of the Premier League season, underlining the need for reinforcements in attack.
Given Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury record, an out-and-out centre-forward is probably on Sean Dyche’s wish list, with 19-year-old arrival Youssef Chermiti likely to remain a reserve for now.
Reports suggest Everton are also eyeing a wide player, even after the addition of Jack Harrison.
His former Leeds team-mate Gnonto is thought to be at the top of the club’s wish list, with football betting sites offering 2/3 on the Italian ending up at Goodison Park.
The Toffees have already had four offers for Gnonto turned down however, and they may find it difficult to agree terms with Leeds.

However, the Scottish champioThe Wilfried Gnonto Transfer Saga: His Prospects Of Remaining At Leeds
Leeds have lost Harrison, Tyler Adams, Rodrigo Moreno, Diego Llorente, Robin Koch, Brendan Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca and Max Wober already this summer - and Gnonto is one player they are desperate to hold on to.
That makes sense. The Whites are plotting an instant return to the Premier League under Daniel Farke and the winger is under contract at Elland Road until the summer of 2027, reducing the pressure to sell.
At 19 years old the forward’s value should continue to rise. Gnonto handed in a formal transfer request last week, but it remains to be seen whether or not Leeds will budge.
As things stand, the Whites are priced at 7/4 to keep hold of one of their most prized assets, at least until January.
From Odds To Reality: Could Wilfried Gnonto Be Tottenham's Next Acquisition?
Given Everton’s poor start to the season, some might caution against a move to Goodison Park.
Joining Tottenham would no doubt be more appealing to Gnonto, who cost Leeds just £4m in 2022.
Spurs are still considering whether to sign a striker to replace Harry Kane, or whether to stick with Richarlison in that role.
If they do decide to bring in a new No.9, there might not be enough money left for a wide player like Gnonto, who would have to compete for minutes with Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, Manor Solomon, James Maddison and Bryan Gil.
That is the main reason why Spurs are available at a more distant 6/1 with new betting sites, but we cannot rule this transfer out just yet.
Aston Villa The Dark Horse Contenders In Wilfried Gnonto's Next Club Odds
Aston Villa were dealt a huge blow on the eve of the new campaign, as Emi Buendia suffered a serious knee injury that will keep him sidelined for the majority of 2023/24.
Villa have since brought in Nicolo Zaniolo, but they could yet sign another attacker - especially after Philippe Coutinho limped out of the 4-0 victory over Everton at the weekend.
Gnonto is a different kind of player to Buendia and Coutinho, but his speed and skill would make him an excellent alternative to Leon Bailey and Moussa Diaby.
The Italian is available at 12/1 to end up at Villa Park, where Unai Emery will be seeking a deeper squad to cope with the challenge of simultaneous domestic and continental commitments.
Wilfried Gnonto's Next Destination: Odds And Transfer Rumours
West Ham have also been linked with a move for Gnonto, but at 20/1 with betting apps they are among the outsiders in this particular race.
David Moyes may want to bolster his attacking options having now strengthened the midfield by signing James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez.
Crystal Palace were spoken of as a potential destination for Gnonto last week, but that was before the news that Michael Olise has committed his future to the south London outfit by signing a new four-year deal. Odds of 25/1 reflect the fact that Palace are now unlikely to make a move.
Fulham and Inter are available at 40/1 with UK bookmakers. Neither team has shown a concrete interest in the 19-year-old, and it is hard to see him ending up at either Craven Cottage or San Siro.
