A kennel-hand in London-based greyhound kennels during the late 80’s Roy cut his betting teeth at Wembley, Walthamstow, Catford and Wimbledon greyhound stadium. He went on to train at Peterborough, Portsmouth and in America where he began writing, by chance, for the Racing Post.
