Originally from South Louisiana, Larry served in the Marine Corps and earned an English degree from Louisiana State University before building a career spanning print, broadcast and political journalism.

Alongside his work in Nevada, he served as managing editor at KFSM-TV 5NEWS, a CBS affiliate in Arkansas, and later taught journalism.
