Amy Howe 'Ousted' As FanDuel CEO

Amy Howe, who has been CEO of FanDuel since 2021, has been "ousted from that post," according to CNBC reporter Contessa Brewer on Wednesday, April 6.

FanDuel President Christian Genetski is taking over leadership of the company, according to what CNBC says are "people who asked not to be named in order to speak about internal matters." The cable news station reported that FanDuel's parent, Ireland-based Flutter, issued 2026 guidance in February that missed Wall Street expectations. On news of Howe's departure, shares of Flutter "fell sharply in afternoon trading Wednesday, down roughly 2.5%, CNBC reported.

Brewer, a CNBC reporter with experience as a television journalist in Nevada, noted that "Howe is one of few women leaders in the gambling industry."

"A veteran of Live Nation and McKinsey, Howe brought deep experience guiding companies in transition and especially those under public scrutiny," the station reported on its website.

Three years ago, in an exclusive interview with Gambling.com, Howe noted that FanDuel was "the clear number one sportsbook operator with a 50% market share."

In the Gambling.com interview, Howe also discussed the company's role is promoting responsible gambling.

"We're funding research, mandating internal training, and working in close collaboration with our league, team and media partners to grow this industry responsibly," she said.
