After five games in the Premier League, we are already seeing records get smashed, managers get fired, and teams like Leeds United and Brighton & Hove Albion surprising everyone.

Now, ahead of the first Merseyside derby of the season and another famous battle in Manchester, we’ve put together our betting advice for this weekend’s fixtures in the Premier League.

Game of the Week

Liverpool 1.38 at Everton 7.0

The winless Everton will play host to city rivals Liverpool this weekend at Goodison Park in the first Merseyside derby of the 2022/23 campaign. The Toffees head into this one with just three points on the board after losing twice and tying two, and they are also facing the idea of manager Frank Lampard getting fired if they lose once again.

Worse yet for Everton, it has only won once against Liverpool since 2010. That was two seasons ago in a 2-0 win at Anfield, but Liverpool did have no fans in attendance and also missed star players like Virgil van Dijk at the time.

The Reds have also scored 15 goals this season and remain in the Top 6 after a late winner against Newcastle United. In truth, it should be an easy win for Liverpool.

Liverpool to beat Everton 3-0 is 10.0 with DraftKings.

Best Bet of the Week

Leeds 3.30 at Brentford 2.15

It’s going to be a thrilling game when Brentford and Leeds United meet here, just as it has always been since the drama between the two back in the Championship in 2019. In the first division, however, both look like promising Premier League teams.

Brentford has been brought back to earth after its magical 4-0 win against Manchester United following on from a loss to Fulham and ties with Crystal Palace and Everton. It still keeps it 11th in the table, but Leeds is impressing more than anyone else right now.

Jesse Marsch was the favorite to get sacked first in the Premier League this season, but after two wins, two ties and one loss, the American is flying high with the Whites. Leeds has scored eight times from five games and let in only five goals too, and it will be confident in beating Brentford on Saturday.

Leeds to beat Brentford 2-1 is 13.0 with DraftKings.

Team of Last Week

Manchester City

The champions of England are coming off a smashing of Nottingham Forest 6-0 and Crystal Palace 4-2 the week before. City dominated Nottingham from start to finish, where Erling Haaland scored another hat-trick in the first half.

It almost felt too easy for City on Wednesday, and after another 6-0 win, this wasn't a hard choice for the team of last week.

Manchester City to beat Aston Villa 4-0 is +14.0 with PointsBet.

Player of Last Week

Erling Haaland, Manchester City

It’s one thing scoring a hat-trick on just your fourth Premier League appearance at 22 years old. Still, by adding another one days later, Haaland has achieved something no other Premier League player has.

He becomes the first man to score nine goals in his first five league games. Haaland has also achieved the same amount of hat-tricks (2) accumulated over many years by Eden Hazard and last season’s top scorer, Son Heung-min.

Haaland could score close to 40 goals this season, and he is again our player of the last week.

Haaland to score first against Aston Villa is 3.2 with FanDuel

Hardest Game to Call

Arsenal 2.65 at Manchester United 2.60

This Sunday is an all-time Premier League classic fixture as Manchester United welcomes Arsenal to Old Trafford. For years in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson and post-Arsene Wenger eras, neither United nor Arsenal has been able to compete for the Premier League title.

But Arsenal has won all five games, and United finally started to look ahead after three wins in a row in the Premier League.

It’s one of the toughest games to call in recent Premier League history. Ultimately, we either leave this game with Arsenal as genuine title contenders or with United closer to competing at the top than it has been since Ferguson retired 10 years ago.

A tie in this game is 3.4 with DraftKings.

  • Newcastle to beat Palace 2-1 is 8.5 at FanDuel.
  • Nottingham to win 1-0 against Bournemouth is 7.0 at DraftKings.
