Bet Protect+ is FanDuel’s insurance-style feature for player props: if a covered player leaves the game due to injury, the bettor doesn’t just lose the bet. A straight bet gets refunded in cash, and a same-game parlay has the injured leg stripped out, so the rest of the parlay still plays. It usually costs 3% of the stake to add.
For all of September, spanning NFL Weeks 1 through 3, FanDuel is waiving that fee entirely and applying the protection to every eligible bet by default.

When a straight bet is voided by an injury, bettors get their actual cash stake back, not a bonus bet or site credit. On a parlay, there’s no cash refund; the injured leg is simply removed, and the remaining legs settle at the adjusted odds, so the original stake keeps riding on what’s left of the bet.

- Ruled out before kickoff (a pre-game scratch is typically voided and refunded under FanDuel’s standard rules rather than Bet Protect+)

What happens to my parlay if one leg gets injured?
FanDuel removes the injured player's leg from your Same Game Parlay and reprices the remaining legs at adjusted odds before settling the bet normally. There's no cash refund on a parlay the way there is on a straight bet — your stake keeps riding on whatever legs are left standing.
Does Bet Protect+ cover a player who gets benched or ejected?
No. The protection only triggers when a covered player exits the game due to injury and doesn't return. Benchings, ejections, foul-outs, coaching decisions, and reduced playing time for any non-injury reason all fall outside the coverage, so those bets settle under FanDuel's normal rules.
How long does the 0% fee last?
FanDuel says the fee waiver covers all of September 2026, which spans NFL Weeks 1 through 3 of the new season. FanDuel hasn't published an exact date or time for when the waiver ends, so the safest assumption is that the standard 3% fee returns after Week 3, which ends on Sept. 29.
Is Bet Protect+ available in every state?
It's available in every state where FanDuel Sportsbook operates, with three exceptions: Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Tennessee, where the feature isn't currently offered due to state-level regulatory restrictions.
Bettors in those three states can still use FanDuel Sportsbook as normal; they just won't see Bet Protect+ on eligible bets.
Does this replace FanDuel's other bet protections, like Same Game Parlay insurance?
