Luminosity Enter EPIC.LAN 49 In Bid To Reach Major

Luminosity have registered for EPIC.LAN 49, the Counter-Strike 2 tournament at Kettering Leisure Village in England, as the team looks for any event that could improve its chances of reaching the Major. The organiser's public team list for the event shows Luminosity registered at 19:22 on October 24, 2026.

Reports say the team's Major hopes took a hit after a winless exit from the DraculaN Season 7 playoffs, which helps explain the hunt for extra events.

EPIC.LAN's EPIC49 runs from Thursday October 29 to Sunday November 1 at Kettering, with the CS2 tournament played across October 30, 31 and November 1. The event page lists a prize pool of up to £6,500, supported by ASUS ROG, with a cap of 48 teams. The organiser says the amount depends on team numbers and sponsorship.

The team list showed 32 teams signed up at the time of writing, with 26 holding the correct number of players. BIG are also listed. Signups close at 16:00 BST on October 29, and the full format and schedule were still to be announced.

Why A Small LAN Matters

The event page says the tournament complies with Valve's operator requirements to be ranked as a Tier 2 Open tournament under the Valve Regional Standings.

The organiser stresses that this does not guarantee ranked status, which depends on data coverage by a third-party stats provider, and that EPIC.LAN will apply for coverage no more than 15 days before the main stage.

That caveat is the key point for a team chasing a Major slot. Standings points from a ranked event could help, but only if the event is covered and Luminosity then perform.

A bettor reading the qualification race should keep in mind that a points boost from a small LAN is likely to be modest.

A Tight Travel Schedule

Luminosity also signed up for the RLG Tesla Cup in Belgrade, Serbia, a $50,000 eight-team LAN scheduled for October 27 to 29. Belgrade to Kettering is a quick turnaround: the Tesla Cup final day falls on October 29, the same day as the EPIC49 doors opening, while the CS2 matches begin the next morning.

Travel and fatigue can influence results, especially for a team playing back-to-back LANs in different countries. Any outright or match market on Luminosity at EPIC.LAN 49 should be judged with that schedule in mind.

The next signals are the Tesla Cup results this week, the final EPIC.LAN team list and format, and the standings update ahead of Major invitations. Teams on the fringe often enter several events in the closing days, so expect more registrations before the cutoff.

Esports markets on betting sites can move quickly on late roster news. Check the lineup and the tournament rules before staking anything, and set limits you can afford.
