Celebrity Traitors Series 2 Odds: James Blunt Among Early Frontrunners

After what feels like an age, The Celebrity Traitors series two cast has finally been confirmed - and there are several betting sites already offering a market on the winner.
A whopping 21 famous faces will head to the Traitors castle later this year to take on the ultimate game of deception and betrayal in a bid to win a prize of up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.
Claudia Winkleman will return to host the star-studded series, which will feature the likes of actors Richard E Grant, Bella Ramsey and Michael Sheen, as well as model Jerry Hall, singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Love Island host Maya Jama.
In last year's first-ever Celebrity Traitors series, comedian Alan Carr was a victorious Traitor, but will the Faithful get their own back this time around?
A Blunt Victory?
Singer-songwriter James Blunt is the early 6/4 favourite on betting apps to win this year's Celebrity Traitors.
Alan showed last year you need to be a likeable fellow to be victorious, and the You're Beautiful hitmaker should be just that.
He's also funny, as he's shown with his comical quips on social media over the years, and his former career, as a British Army captain, could come in handy in missions and when trying to suss out Traitors.
Army veterans also have a good success rate on the show.

In civilian series The Traitors, Harry Clark, who served in the Army as an engineer, became the first-ever star to win the series as a Traitor when he fibbed his way to victory in season two.
A year later, former British Army Corporal Leanne Quigley was a joint winner.
But if James is murdered or banished, then comedians Rob Beckett (13/8) or Joanne McNally (7/4) could be ready to take the title.
Comedy gets you a long way in the castle, as Chatty Man Alan showed last year, and Rob's quick wit could help him to avoid suspicion if he's picked to be a Traitor.
The Celebrity Traitors Series 2 Odds: Winner
Celebrity | Odds | Probability |
|---|---|---|
James Blunt | 6/4 | 40% |
Rob Beckett | 13/8 | 38.1% |
Joanne McNally | 7/4 | 36.4% |
Sharon Rooney | 15/8 | 34.8% |
Romesh Ranganathan | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Maya Jama | 9/4 | 30.8% |
Bella Ramsey | 12/5 | 29.4% |
Leigh-Anne Pinnock | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Joe Lycett | 3/1 | 25% |
Richard E Grant | 3/1 | 25% |
Miranda Hart | 10/3 | 23.1% |
Jerry Hall | 7/2 | 22.2% |
Julie Hesmondhalgh | 4/1 | 20% |
Myha'la | 4/1 | 20% |
Michael Sheen | 9/2 | 18.2% |
James Acaster | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Ross Kemp | 11/2 | 15.4% |
King Kenny | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Sebastian Croft | 13/2 | 13.3% |
Amol Rajan | 7/1 | 12.5% |
Professor Hannah Fry | 8/1 | 11.1% |
The same can be said for Irish comedian and writer Joanne, as well as Rob's pal Romesh Ranganathan (2/1).
Scottish actress Sharon Rooney is sandwiched in between the pair, as a 15/8 shot, and her acting ability could help her to reach the latter stages.
It's 5/6 that a comedian wins Celebrity Traitors for the second year running, ahead of a singer or musician (11/8).
Three of the top five in the outright market are comedians - Rob, Joanne and Romesh - and it wouldn't be a surprise if either, or even all three, laughed their way to the top to follow in the footsteps of Alan Carr.
The Big Dog Theory
There's no Joe Marler in this year's Celebrity Traitors, but the former rugby union player's Big Dog theory is 99.9% sure to come up at some point throughout the series.
In season one, Joe suggested one of either Jonathan Ross or Stephen Fry had to be Traitors, because they were so-called "big dogs".
He was right - as Jonathan turned out to be part of the team of cloaks.
This year, it wouldn't be a surprise to see one of Hollywood stars Sheen or Grant chosen as Traitors.
Richard is 11/10 favourite to be on the dark side, and Michael isn't far behind at 6/5.
Rob Beckett is a 5/4 shot, and Jerry Hall - the former partner of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, and ex-wife of business magnate Rupert Murdoch - would be a fantastic pick at 11/8.
The Celebrity Traitors Series 2 Odds: Picked To Be A Traitor

|---|---|---|
Richard E Grant | 11/10 | 47.6% |
Michael Sheen | 6/5 | 45.5% |
Rob Beckett | 5/4 | 44.4% |
Jerry Hall | 11/8 | 42.1% |
Miranda Hart | 6/4 | 40% |
Joanne McNally | 13/8 | 38.1% |
Sharon Rooney | 7/4 | 36.4% |
Romesh Ranganathan | 9/5 | 35.7% |
James Blunt | 15/8 | 34.8% |
Joe Lycett | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Maya Jama | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Leigh-Anne Pinnock | 11/5 | 31.3% |
Bella Ramsey | 9/4 | 30.8% |
Professor Hannah Fry | 5/2 | 28.6% |
King Kenny | 3/1 | 25% |
Ross Kemp | 3/1 | 25% |
Myha'la | 7/2 | 22.2% |
Julie Hesmondhalgh | 4/1 | 20.0% |
Amol Rajan | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Sebastian Croft | 6/1 | 14.3% |
James Acaster | 8/1 | 11.1% |
She will no doubt have some incredible tales to tell in the castle, so viewers will be hoping she can remain in the series for most, if not all, of the 10 episodes.
Choosing Jerry as one of the Traitors would be a smart move by the producers, while it's 6/4 that Miranda Hart is picked.
While James Blunt is favourite to win the show, he is near the middle of the pack (15/8) when it comes to being chosen as a Traitor.
Love Island host Maya Jama is used to being in Claudia's role for such shows, but she may have picked up some traitorous tips during her time hosting Love Island.
She is 2/1 to be chosen as part of the team of cloaks, the same price as comedian Joe Lycett.

Dark Horse Bella
Actors must be feared in a game of deception due to the nature of their career, and Game of Thrones star Bella Ramsey could be a real dark horse to win this year's Celebrity Traitors at 12/5.
The Last of Us actress is also a 9/4 shot to be chosen as a Traitor, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see her in the final at the end of the series.
There are three actors in the outright market's top 10, and nearly half of the contestants are screen stars.
It's 2/1 that an actor wins this year's Celebrity Traitors.
The Celebrity Traitors Series 2 Odds: Profession Of Winner
Profession | Odds | Probability |
|---|---|---|
Comedian | 5/6 | 54.5% |
Singer/Musician | 11/8 | 42.1% |
Actor | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Broadcaster | 3/1 | 25% |
Model | 7/2 | 22.2% |
Content Creator | 6/1 | 14.3% |
If Michael Sheen can avoid being voted out due to the Big Dog theory he might be a value pick at 9/2, while Industry star Myha’la and Coronation Street icon Julie Hesmondhalgh are 4/1 shots.
It's 6/1 that a content creator triumphs in the series.
King Kenny - not to be confused with former Scottish football great Sir Kenny Dalglish - is going it alone for the content creators.
But if Celebrity Traitors series one is anything to go by - when YouTuber Niko Omilana was the first star to be banished from the castle - he might struggle to reach the latter stages.
And anyone with "professor" in their name, as Professor Hannah Fry does, will be seen as an automatic threat.
She could be gone early.
