Celebrity Traitors Series 2 Odds: Miranda Hart Favourite As Traitor Roles Emerge

The Celebrity Traitors series two has wrapped filming, and it's said to be the most treacherous season yet.
One of the interesting murmurings about the season two shoot is that a third of the contestants end up as Traitors, which has led to significant movement on betting sites.
A show insider told The Sun: "Those working on the programme were quite shocked by the approach adopted by the core Traitors.
"They went on a recruiting spree that has never been seen on either the celebrity or the ‘civilian’ version of the show in the UK.
"Last year, the original three Traitors secretly selected by Claudia remained as a trio throughout the competition - which turned out to be a winning approach."
Comedian Alan Carr won last year's inaugural Celebrity Traitors series as a Traitor, but who will join the team of cloaks this year?
Jerry's Traitor Haul
When Alan secured victory in series one, he and fellow Traitors Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns didn't recruit anybody.
Jonathan and Cat were eventually banished, but Alan held on to claim victory.
However, this year's series sounds like it will feature plenty of recruitment.
Richard E. Grant recently gave insight into the goings-on during filming at Scotland's Ardross Castle, and he was shocked by how "cruel" people could be on the show.
Speaking about calling Celebrity Traitors series one star Celia Imrie for some words of wisdom, after he had signed up for the series, he said on The One Show: "When it was announced who was going to be in it, I called her because we’ve known each other for 40 years.
"And I said, 'Celia, what is the thing you can’t be prepared for?'
"She said, 'The cruelty of people who you instinctively want to trust,' in a room like this, where suddenly every single person suspects you.
"I think that’s a very accurate thing to have said."
Following his comments, Richard has drifted on betting apps to be a Traitor, and model and actress Jerry Hall is now the 4/5 favourite to be chosen.

Rob Beckett | 9/4 | 30.8% |
Joanne McNally | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Sharon Rooney | 11/4 | 26.7% |
Romesh Ranganathan | 3/1 | 25% |
Joe Lycett | 10/3 | 23.1% |
Jerry Hall | 7/2 | 22.2% |
Julie Hesmondhalgh | 4/1 | 20% |
Myha'la | 9/2 | 18.2% |
Michael Sheen | 5/1 | 16.7% |
James Acaster | 11/2 | 15.4% |

Richard E. Grant | 7/1 | 12.5% |
Sebastian Croft | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Amol Rajan | 9/1 | 10% |
Professor Hannah Fry | 10/1 | 9.1% |
One theory The Traitors fans have latched onto is that bosses like to choose an older, a younger, and a quirky member of the group to be the initial Traitor trio.
If that's the case this year, then Jerry - who is the oldest star set to take part - would fit the bill as a possible traitor.
Former Game of Thrones star Bella Ramsey is the youngest of the 21 stars heading to the Scottish castle, and she is just Evens to be picked as a Traitor.
Richard himself is 69, but his recent comments have seen him drift to 7/4 to be a Traitor, while EastEnders actor Ross Kemp - who is also in his 60s - is a 5/6 shot to wear the iconic cloak.
Alan Carr II
Miranda Hart, who is 53, isn't far behind at 10/11 to be a Traitor, but she could perhaps be seen as the "quirky" member of the team of cloaks.
Carr appeared to take on that role last year, and it worked wonders for the Chatty Man star, who managed to successfully laugh it off whenever the Faithful suspected him of being a Traitor.
Could Miranda be the second Alan-like winner in consecutive celebrity series?
She is now 6/4 favourite to triumph in the series, followed by 13/8 shot Bella.
The Celebrity Traitors Series 2 Odds: Picked To Be A Traitor
Celebrity | Odds | Probability |
|---|---|---|
Jerry Hall | 4/5 | 55.6% |
Ross Kemp | 5/6 | 54.5% |
Miranda Hart | 10/11 | 52.4% |
Bella Ramsey | Evens | 50% |
Sebastian Croft | 11/10 | 47.6% |
Rob Beckett | 11/8 | 42.1% |
Romesh Ranganathan | 6/4 | 40% |
Michael Sheen | 13/8 | 38.1% |
Richard E. Grant | 7/4 | 36.4% |
Sharon Rooney | 7/4 | 36.4% |
Joanne McNally | 15/8 | 34.8% |
James Blunt | 15/8 | 34.8% |
Joe Lycett | 2/1 | 33.3% |
King Kenny | 9/4 | 30.8% |
Maya Jama | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Julie Hesmondhalgh | 3/1 | 25% |
Amol Rajan | 7/2 | 22.2% |
James Acaster | 4/1 | 20% |
Myha'la | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Professor Hannah Fry | 11/2 | 15.4% |
Leigh-Anne Pinnock | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Love Island host Maya Jama isn't too far away at 7/4 third favourite.
Maya is expected to be a likeable contestant, and it wouldn't be a surprise if she were chosen as a Traitor.
When speaking about her acting ambitions in March, Maya told the BBC: "My dream role is something completely opposite to me.
"I've always said I don't want to be what people expect me to be on camera. I'd want to be the complete opposite of that, so a monster or a mean, evil person. A villain, maybe, would be nice".
It sounds like she would relish being a Traitor, and Maya is just 5/2 to assume the role later this year.

Comedians To Have Last Laugh?
With Miranda, Rob Beckett (9/4), Joanne McNally (5/2), Romesh Ranganathan (3/1) and Joe Lycett (10/3) all featuring in the top 10 of the outright market to win this year's Celebrity Traitors, it's just Evens that a comedian does the business.
But will this year's comedy geniuses have it all their own way?
The actors will no doubt have something to say this year.
The Celebrity Traitors Series 2 Odds: Profession Of Winner
Profession | Odds | Probability |
|---|---|---|
Comedian | Evens | 50% |
Actor | 6/4 | 40% |
Broadcaster | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Singer/Musician | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Model | 7/2 | 22.2% |
Content Creator | 6/1 | 14.3% |
With Bella just behind Miranda - who is also an actor - in the top two in the market, it wouldn't be a surprise if she or one of her fellow screen stars, Jerry Hall (7/2), Julie Hesmondhalgh (4/1), Myha’la (9/2), and Michael Sheen (5/1) did it for the TV and film wonders.
Michael, or Richard, could come unstuck due to the Big Dog Theory, though.
In season one, retired rugby union player Joe Marler suggested one of either Jonathan Ross or Stephen Fry had to be Traitors, because they were so-called "big dogs".
He was right, as Jonathan turned out to be part of the team of cloaks.
Maya looks to be almost going it alone for the broadcasters, who also include Amol Rajan (9/1), while Professor Hannah Fry is 10/1.
However, both are propping up the Winner market.
Anyone with "professor" in their name may well be seen as an automatic threat, which could result in The Traitors bumping Hannah off early - unless she is a cloak-wearer herself.
