Coronation Street Odds: Eva And Michelle Among Favourites To Be New Rovers Owner

If Weatherfield had a town crier, then they would be shouting something along the lines of "read all about it - the Rovers Return is up for sale" this week.
The fictional pub remains the centrepiece of the ITV soap, and it's set for new ownership after an outgoing cast member let slip that it's on the market.
Colson Smith recently had his Corrie leaving do after filming his exit scenes as Craig Tinker, and he shared a farewell snap on Instagram of himself sat on top of the Rovers.
But nothing gets passed soap fans.
Some eagle-eyed Corrie viewers spotted a for sale sign on the Rovers, meaning the boozer looks set to go on the market in around six weeks, or less.
Following the slip up, several soap super-fans have been wondering who the new owner, or owners, could be, and there is a tight market on betting sites.
Carla Connor (Alison King) currently claims ownership of the local watering hole, after Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) and Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) used the knicker factory boss' funds to purchase the pub.
But who will be forking out for Corrie's hotpot HQ?
Rovers Returnees
There are rumblings among the Coronation Street faithful that a returning character could be in pole position to splash out on the Rovers.
An obvious choice would be Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley), who is expected to head back to Weatherfield later this year.
It's been reported since February that Catherine will make a Corrie comeback, and it would be apt for the character to purchase the pub she once lived in with her mother Stella Price (Michelle Collins).
She is 6/4 on betting apps to be the Rovers' new owner, but some believe another returning character could take up ownership of the beloved building.
Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) hasn't been seen on Corrie since 2019, but she is 13/8 to return to Weatherfield as the new Rovers proprietor.
There hasn't always been much love lost between Eva and Michelle, and it would be quite something if they renewed their rivalry to battle it out for ownership of the Rovers, where Michelle also used to live.
Or, could Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox) help her foster daughter Jenny out by purchasing the pub?
While Jenny is technically the current co-owner and landlady, she isn't really because she used Carla's cash.
But it's 2/1 that Rita becomes the new owner.
Corrie Couple's Comedy Injection
Corrie fans are often calling for more comical storylines amid all the doom and gloom of murders, drug dealers and gangsters in Weatherfield.
One way of achieving a comedy injection could be to cast an unlikely couple as the new Rovers owners.
Chesney Brown and Gemma Winter (Sam Aston and Dolly-Rose Campbell) seem like somewhat of an outside choice, but at 3/1 they could be in contention.
Thanks to her work as barmaid at the Rovers, Gemma knows all about the boozer.
Coronation Street Odds: Who Will Buy The Rovers Return Next?
Character | Odds | Probability |
Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) | 6/4 | 40% |
Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) | 13/8 | 38.1% |
Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox) | 2/1 | 33.3% |
David & Shona Platt (Jack P Shepherd & Julia Goulding) | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Chesney Brown & Gemma Winter (Sam Aston & Dolly-Rose Campbell) | 3/1 | 25% |
Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) | 7/2 | 22.2% |
Steve McDonald & Tracy Barlow (Simon Gregson & Kate Ford) | 4/1 | 20% |
Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) & Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) | 9/2 | 18.2% |
Ken Barlow (Bill Roache) | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Sally & Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor & (Joe Duttine) | 7/1 | 12.5% |
Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) | 9/1 | 10% |
Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) | 10/1 | 9.1% |
Stella Price (Michelle Collins) | 16/1 | 5.9% |
The main stumbling block for the pair would be money, but they are due a bit of good fortune.
While Ches and Gemma may need a lottery win, David and Shona Platt (Jack P Shepherd and Julia Goulding) might be a more realistic landlord and landlady double act at 5/2. Or Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) at 9/2.
But how about a reunion storyline for Steve McDonald and Tracy Barlow (Simon Gregson and Kate Ford), culminating in the pair acquiring the Rovers?
The former couple split last year when Tracy embarked on an affair with Steve's idol, former pro footballer Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn), but the ex-Weatherfield County player has since accepted a job offer in Southampton.
Steve has plenty of experience running the Rovers, and Tracy would be comedy gold as the pub's new landlady.
While Steve and Tracy aren't together at the moment, six weeks is a long time in Soapland, and they are 4/1 to be the boozer's next owners.
One way of the pair getting the cash could be from Steve's daughter Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell).
She is currently in Australia, but if she came back from Oz a rich woman then there is a chance she could buy the pub for her dad.
Ken's Boozer Buy?
If one of Steve's relatives doesn't come up with the cash, then perhaps one of Tracy's can?
Her dad Ken Barlow (Bill Roache) must surely have a few hundred thousand stashed under his pillow after all those years in Weatherfield. Perhaps he could snap up the watering hole?
It's 5/1 for Ken to acquire the pub next, and double that price for another soap stalwart, Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment), to buy it.
It's unclear where he might get that sort of cash from, but Kirk behind the bar would no doubt lead to some comical storylines.
What's more, it's known Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) is returning to the cobbles later this year as part of his mum Eileen Grimshaw's (Sue Cleaver) exit storyline.
He is 6/1 to splash out on the Rovers during his comeback, while Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) - who has been linked to a Corrie comeback for a while - is 8/1 to buy the building.
