Emi Martinez Next Club Odds: Manchester United Favourites To Land Villa Keeper

It was thought that Emi Martinez was going to leave Aston Villa this summer, but the Argentinian remains at Villa Park despite interest from clubs around Europe.
Manchester United are favourites to sign the World Cup winner with betting sites, and the likelihood of him moving to Old Trafford has taken a boost after Altay Bayindir's blunder in the opening game of the season.
Martinez, who missed the first game of the season through suspension, signed a new five-year contract in August and is 1/5 to remain at the club.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper was emotional following Villa’s final home game last season, however, sparking speculation that he may be preparing for a summer exit.
It is believed that the Argentinian has received highly lucrative offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia, but sources close to the player suggest he wishes to remain in Europe.
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is known to be a strong admirer of his compatriot, while Martinez has reportedly been on United’s radar for a while.
So, where might the former Arsenal goalkeeper end up if he leaves Villa Park in the remainder of the transfer window?
We have examined some of the possible contenders for his signature and the latest Emi Martinez next club odds.
United Need A Safe Pair Of Hands
Manchester United are the 10/3 favourites to sign Martinez on football betting sites as they look for a new number one.
Andre Onana's catalogue of errors played a part in United's worst-ever Premier League season, and Ruben Amorim looked on as Bayindir made another blunder in the opening day loss to Arsenal.
It has been quite some time since United have had a trustworthy number one, and Martinez’s top-flight experience makes him an ideal contender to bring some solidity to the position.
If the Argentinian does make the move to Old Trafford, he will join his namesake and fellow countryman, Lisandro, with whom he is said to have a good relationship.

Atleti Interest Hinges On Oblak
Atletico Madrid could move for Martinez if current keeper Jan Oblak accepts an offer from the Saudi Pro League.
The 32-year-old Slovenian has attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, and reports claim Atleti would be interested in adding Martinez to their strong Argentinian core should Oblak leave.
Manager Simeone apparently contacted the goalkeeper after the 2022 World Cup, but a bid was never made.
He is back in the picture again this summer, but it all depends on the future of Oblak.
Atletico were 11/2 favourites to bring Martinez to the Metropolitano but have since drifted to 16/1.
Chelsea Could Swoop
Chelsea are another club unsure about the abilities of their current number one.
Robert Sanchez has been inconsistent since joining from Brighton, so Enzo Maresca might be looking for a replacement this summer.
It was reported that Villa had offered Martinez to the Blues for £45 million, a price tag that won't put off the big spenders at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have again been busy in the transfer market, and they could make the Villa keeper the next player through the door.
Galatasaray In The Running
If Martinez prefers a move away from the Premier League, Galatasaray (16/1) are said to be keen on bringing him to Turkey.
Fresh from winning their third Super Lig title in a row, the Turkish giants are pushing for a statement signing, and Martinez could be the answer.
Galatasaray have the funds to offer the Villa man a hefty wage, and he would surely be interested in joining such a prestigious club.
There are not many football fans more passionate than the Turkish, and Martinez seems to thrive in that kind of atmosphere.
Saudi Switch For World Cup Winner?
Saudi Arabia’s Pro League has become a major destination for some of the world’s top footballers.
Of course, the quality is nowhere near that of the major European leagues, but the wages on offer are extremely attractive.
A Saudi switch is available at 16/1 and cannot be ruled out now that Martinez is approaching his mid-30s.
Newcastle Have Other Priorities
Newcastle United had earmarked a new goalkeeper as one of their priorities this summer, and they have brought in Aaron Ramsdale on loan from Southampton.
That is likely to have taken the Magpies out of the running, with signing a new striker now being the main focus.
Elsewhere, Serie A champions Napoli are 25/1 as they attempt to defend their crown.
Paris Saint-Germain's goalkeeping situation is up in the air with Gianluigi Donnarumma's future uncertain, and the Champions League winners can also be backed at 25/1.
