FPL Tips: Guide To Fantasy Premier League Game Week 37
It’s the penultimate Game Week of the 2022/23 Fantasy Premier League season!
The game continues to throw us curveballs, with both Manchester clubs having two fixtures for GW37 and the same applies to Brighton and Chelsea.
Hopefully you are well covered when it comes to this quartet of teams!

The fact that Manchester City are competing for the treble adds difficulty to selecting the right players who are going to perform well in Premier League encounters, with managers suffering from “Pep Roulette” and we’re likely to see rotation after the team booked their place in the Champions League final.
We also have to weigh up the teams who have the greatest motivation at this stage of the season.
Liverpool gunning for a Premier League top four spot ahead of a clash against Aston Villa, while Brighton’s home game against Southampton is a potential goalfest for the Seagulls against relegated opponents.
When is the Game Week 37 Transfer Deadline?
You have until 11am on Saturday, May 20 to make your transfers for the coming Game Week, shortly before Tottenham’s lunchtime clash against Brentford which could be Harry Kane’s final home game for Spurs.
Which Teams Have The Best Double In Game Week 37?
MANCHESTER CITY are relatively fixture-proof and they could make hay at home to Chelsea before a trip to Brighton.
However, they might seal the title in the former clash and that could see Pep Guardiola make widespread changes for the visit to the AMEX Stadium, with the Spaniard not averse to resting any of his star players.
MANCHESTER UNITED need to keep winning and they travel to Bournemouth before a home clash with CHELSEA.
Erik Ten Hag’s side will be favourites on betting sites to land a victory in both of those games, with the Blues having two trips to Manchester in the space of a few days and their assets looks unattractive.
Then we have BRIGHTON who have had more recent doubles than Michael van Gerwen.
A home clash against Southampton looks ripe for the picking before entertaining Man City in what could essentially be a dead rubber for the champions-elect.
Which Teams Have The Best FPL Fixtures For GW37 And GW38?
We should cast our eye over the Game Week 38 fixtures at this stage in proceedings, with the final round of games always producing some unusual scorelines.
ARSENAL follow a trip to Nottingham Forest with a home game against Wolves, with Mikel Arteta wanting his team to go out all guns blazing now that the title has been practically lost.
LIVERPOOL will aim to finish the season on a high after a marvellous winning run, with Aston Villa visiting Anfield before the Reds travel to Southampton on the final day of the season.
Their Merseyside neighbours EVERTON could also benefit from a relatively easy two remaining games which includes a trip to Molineux and a visit to Bournemouth.
However, MANCHESTER UNITED not only have a double for GW37, but then finish off with another home match against Fulham and it’s just a question of plumping for the right options considering that few of their players have actually achieved strong Fantasy Premier League scores this season.
Who Are The Best GW37 Players To Buy?
Defenders
Speaking of United, LUKE SHAW (£5.2m) is the most popular defender ahead of GW37, with over 100,000 FPL managers having already signed him.
It’s practically certain that we’ll see him achieve a good score in GW37 and he’s also something of a bonus points magnet for a United team who are operating a stingy defence right now.
We keep banging the drum for PERVIS ESTUPINAN (£4.9m) who clocked up a remarkable 17 points from Brighton’s visit to the Emirates Stadium and another Brighton double along with his cheap price tag means that he’s the obvious Seagulls player to draft in considering that the other popular assets aren’t pulling up any trees.
For those looking to bolster their Man City numbers, JOHN STONES (£5.6m) seems the most obvious play.
However, the England man played precisely zero minutes against Leeds United and Everton in the past two Premier League fixtures and it’s hard to trust Pep Guardiola when it comes to team selection.
Midfielders
If you had owned ILKAY GUNDOGAN (£7.4m) for the past two Game Weeks, you would have enjoyed a return of 32 points from the Man City midfielder.
He has scored two goals against both Leeds and Everton, with over 250,000 managers now coming for the German although the player only managed seven points in the previous five GW’s.
KEVIN DE BRUYNE (£12.2m) didn’t feature against Goodison Park either, but the Belgian is capable of similarly devastating totals as he showed when scoring 19 FPL points against Arsenal in Game Week 33 along with 13 points in GW29 against Liverpool. De Bruyne could be the one to back for this upcoming double.
However, RIYAD MAHREZ (£7.4m) could be a great Manchester City option if you want to have a gamble.
The Algerian is second string in the Champions League games but has played the full ninety minutes in the past three Premier League encounters and scored a solid 22 points in the process.
Aside from Man City players, BRUNO FERNANDES (£9.5m) is coming into plenty of teams but the Man United midfielder hasn’t performed brilliantly from an FPL perspective this season, while EBERECHI EZE (£5.6m) smashed 16 points against Bournemouth last week and that means it’s 56 points scored in the space of seven Game Weeks.
Forwards
Newcastle United might be about to consign Leicester City to Premier League relegation and the main slayer appears to be CALLUM WILSON (£7.2m) right now.
The Magpies striker has been finishing the season like a train, recording totals of 13, 12, 2 and 12 in his past four Game Weeks and he seems difficult to overlook when pitched against a porous Foxes defence.
With Marcus Rashford still recovering from a leg injury, some managers are rolling the dice and taking a punt on ANTHONY MARTIAL (£6.3m) but the Frenchman remains unconvincing from an FPL point-of-view.
But, JULIAN ALVAREZ (£6.0m) is possibly more appealing and he’s been getting recent Premier League minutes.
Who Are The Best GW37 Players To Sell?
Defenders
KIERAN TRIPPIER is the highest-scoring defender in the game this season, ahowever he’s also the most sold player for that position ahead of GW37.
This is probably to free up funds for the likes of Luke Shaw and Pervis Estupinan, although he’s also failed to score a meaningful total since GW29.
Midfielders
Not a huge amount to report other than the injured MARCUS RASHFORD and GABRIEL MARTINELLI exiting stage left, with SOLLY MARCH also leaving teams along with the rotated JACK GREALISH.
Forwards
IVAN TONEY’s hamstring injury means that managers are shipping out a forward who didn’t feature against West Ham last week.
OLLIE WATKINS has been testing everyone’s patience in the past few weeks and the forward has now gone five Game Weeks without a goal although he did manage an assist against Spurs.
Who Should Be Captain For Game Week 37?
Erling Haaland seems more immune to Manchester City rotation than any other player and it would seem an obvious play to give the Norwegian the armband once again.
Providing he has come through Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid unscathed, we can expect plenty of points to be scored against Chelsea and Brighton.
From a differential point of view, another Manchester City player such as Riyad Mahez or Kevin de Bruyne could be an option, while Luke Shaw may well end up as Manchester United’s best scoring player this week.
