Premier League Relegation Odds: Who Will Go Down?
We are approaching the final few games of the Premier League season, and the best betting sites have updated their relegation odds after an eventful few weeks at the bottom of the table.
Sheffield United remain rooted to the bottom of the table, but the four sides directly above them are separated by just seven points.
The relegation battle took yet another twist when Everton were deducted a further two points for another breach of the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules.
Three sides will drop into the Championship at the end of the campaign, but there are bound to be more twists and turns to come before then.
Which three sides will finish below the dreaded dotted line? Check out the latest odds offered by betting apps below, then read our analysis of the fight to stay up.
Sheffield United And Burnley Odds-On To Fall
Sheffield United are overwhelming favourites to finish in the bottom three at 1/500 on football betting sites.
The Blades, who have the worst attack and defense in the league, have had little to cheer following promotion to the Premier League last term.
Their squad arguably got weaker over the summer and Chris Wilder has been unable to arrest a slide which began under Paul Heckingbottom.
Burnley have fared marginally better, yet they have still been a huge disappointment after romping the Championship in 2022/23.
Still, Vincent Kompany's men are undefeated in five of their last six matches, leaving his side six points shy of 17th.
Luton Town Could Climb Out The Bottom Three
Luton continue to defy the preseason odds and are just one point away from climbing out of the relegation zone.
A recent 2-1 win over Bournemouth was a well needed three points, but they will need to eliminate results of a similar fashion to their 5-1 defeat at Man City last time out.
If Rob Edwards can guide his side to a win in the Hatters' next match they could surge up to 16th position.
Luton have been competitive for much of the campaign - certainly more so than Sheffield United and Burnley - and they have scored just one goal fewer than Man Utd who sit in seventh.
Yet football betting sites price them at 8/13 to return to the Championship.
Edwards’ team will fight until the end, but a relative lack of quality could ultimately be their undoing.
Forest Close To Relegation Zone Following Punishment
Nottingham Forest are now just a point outside the bottom three after being hit with a four-point deduction.
The club will appeal the punishment and could get one or two points back, but Nuno Espirito Santo will not want to leave anything to chance.
The Portuguese oversaw an initial bounce after taking charge at the City Ground, but results have been poor in 2024; Forest have won just twice this calendar year and only seven times all season.
There is enough talent within the group for Forest (9/4) to survive, but Espirito has some serious work to do over the next month or so.
Everton Points Penalty Leaves Them Vulnerable
Everton were originally hit with a 10-point penalty for their own breach of the profit and sustainability rules, but four were handed back on appeal, before a further two were recently added.
The Toffees have won just one of their last 15 matches in the league, but the fact their sole victory came over Burnley could prove pivotal.
Everton have been excellent defensively, but an inability to finish their chances has dogged them throughout the campaign. If Sean Dyche had any hair left, he would have pulled it out long ago.
The bookies still expect Everton to stay up, but they have another Premier League charge hanging over them, making odds of 9/2 very appealing.
Brentford And Crystal Palace Ought To Have Enough
Brentford (125/1) and Crystal Palace (200/1) are now comfortably expected to keep their heads above water.
Palace have shown signs of improvement under Oliver Glasner and are starting to get key players back from injury. They also have an eight-point buffer above the relegation zone.
Brentford were in a slightly more precarious position before defeating Sheffield United 2-0 last time out, which should be enough to see them safe.
The Bees are seven points clear of the drop zone as things stand, but Thomas Frank will be taking nothing for granted.
