Premier League Relegation Odds: Wolves Slashed After Winless Start

The 2025/26 Premier League season is under way, and betting sites have updated their odds on all the usual markets.
The relegation battle is one of the most popular betting heats with punters, and this year should be no different.
Sunderland, Leeds and Burnley were favourites for the drop before the season kicked off, but some other clubs have joined them at the head of the market after poor starts to the season.
Leeds and Sunderland have made impressive starts, particularly the latter, who have two wins from three games.
Of course, there is always the potential for so-called bigger teams to struggle early on, and this season has seen Wolves, Aston Villa and West Ham all enduring difficult starts.
Here, we look at the main contenders for the drop and some teams that could easily get dragged into a relegation battle.
Burnley Favourites For The Drop
Burnley have been the ultimate yo-yo club in recent seasons.
The Clarets were promoted to the Premier League in 2023/24 but suffered an instant return to the Championship.
They are now back in the big time and will be hoping to avoid a third relegation in five seasons.
Scott Parker's side have been beaten by Tottenham, secured a 2-0 win over Sunderland, and were within minutes of an impressive draw at Manchester United last time.
All in all, it has been a decent start, but the Clarets still find themselves as 4/11 favourites to suffer yet another relegation.
Sunderland Make Impressive Start
Sunderland are back in the Premier League after an eight-year absence, and they have enjoyed their return so far.
The Black Cats have splashed the cash this summer and have accumulated six points from their three games thus far.
French manager Regis Le Bris has done a fantastic job at the Stadium of Light, but he still faces a tough challenge in keeping the club up this season.
Home form will be crucial, and they face a tough run of fixtures which will show their credentials for survival.
Despite this good start, football betting sites have Sunderland as second favourites for the drop at a price of 17/20.
Wolves Odds-On After Early Struggles
Wolves were always going to face a tough start this season without two of their star players.
Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri have moved on, and their absence has been evident in the club's first three games.
Wolves also got off to a bad start last season under Gary O'Neil, but did enough after the arrival of Vitor Pereira to survive.
It looks like it will be another battle against relegation this season, and they have shortened to 9/10 after their horrific start.
Leeds Finding Their Feet
Of the three promoted clubs, Leeds were tipped to perform best according to betting apps.
Having pipped Burnley to the Championship title last season, confidence was high at Elland Road as they returned to the Premier League for the first time since 2022/23.
That confidence has been justified, as Daniel Farke's side have recorded a 1-0 win over Everton and a 0-0 draw with Newcastle.
A 5-0 battering at the hands of Arsenal will be a worry, but beating the teams around them will be more vital for their survival.
The Whites are 9/4 to be relegated this season.
West Ham Woes
Hopes are always high for West Ham fans as they go into a new season, but they have had little to shout about in recent years.
This has continued so far in this campaign, and the pressure was on Graham Potter after the lacklustre defeats to Sunderland and Chelsea.
The Hammers finally got some points on the board with a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest, but fans are still unhappy with the situation on and off the field.
Having been 7/1 for relegation before the season, West Ham are now 11/4.
New Bees Boss Still Learning
Keith Andrews' appointment as manager at Brentford came from left field.
The Irishman had never held the top job in his coaching career, so it was a baptism of fire when the Bees were beaten 3-1 by Nottingham Forest on the opening weekend.
Victory over Aston Villa and an EFL win over Bournemouth were steps in the right direction, but they went down to an injury-time winner to Sunderland last time.
It is still early days for Andrews, and he is at a club that have been loyal to their managers in the past, so he will be given time to learn on the job.
The Bees have drifted slightly in the Premier League relegation odds to 3/1.
Fulham Unlucky To Be Winless
Fulham can consider themselves unlucky not to have got a win on the board so far this season.
Marco Silva's side have been on the receiving end of some poor refereeing decisions, but have still managed to grab draws against Brighton and Manchester United.
They have a run of games against teams around them at the bottom of the table this month, and if they perform as well as they have so far, they are likely to move up the table.
Fulham can now be backed at 9/1 for relegation.
Fulham defender Antonee Robinson has taken to Instagram to criticise the standard of refereeing in the Premier League.

Forest Starting To Flounder
Nottingham Forest got off to a flying start with a 3-1 win over Brentford, but a draw with Crystal Palace and a convincing defeat to West Ham have dampened the mood at the City Ground.
In addition, the relationship between boss Nuno Espirito Santo and owner Evangelos Marinakis is not what it once was, meaning the mood at the club is not ideal.
The Portuguese is favourite in the Premier League sack race odds, and if performances don't pick up, he could be facing the axe.
Forest are now 11/1 to be relegated this season.
Elsewhere, Everton and Crystal Palace are priced at 14/1, while Bournemouth are 22/1.
