For today's horse racing tips, our analyst James Boyle looks at the flat racing meetings at Redcar and Windsor, with four selections now online.

13:50 Redcar – Mutanaaseq – 1pt @ 8/1
Mutanaaseq has gone a long time without success but he’s well-handicapped on form from the early part of last season and may pop up in something soon. He’s not as good on the All-Weather so was unlikely to do too much on his seasonal return at Newcastle, where he raced prominently over 6f and then weakened inside the last couple of furlongs, not given an overly hard time by James Sullivan.
It did look as if he’d improve for the spin fitness-wise and he’ll be happier back on turf, and may be happier over the extra furlong. One of his best runs last year came over C&D when fourth to Il Bandito in a 0-90 and he’s 19lbs lower in the ratings now. The question is the ground and how much it’ll suit him, but he hasn’t had many goes on it and has a couple of pieces of form with an ease. I’ll chance it.

15:00 Redcar – Copper And Five – 1pt @ 10/1
I’m hoping for a Ruth Carr double as Copper And Five gets the nod in this. He doesn’t have the benefit of a recent run so fitness is the unknown, but wasn’t disgraced on his seasonal return last term when sixth in a hotter renewal of this race. He’s a full stone lower in the weights now having gone the rest of the season without a win and is definitely in a better place with regard to how he’s handicapped.
Two of his final three runs of last season were solid as well and both of them came over C&D, including a one-length fourth behind the reopposing Belhaven. The yard have only really got back on track since then and although we have no more recent form to know how well the horse is now, he likes it here and if he’s fit enough to do himself justice, he’ll be in the mix when the going gets tough late on.
15:45 Windsor – Indian Creak – 1pt @ 11/2
Indian Creak likes it here, with his six C&D handicap runs yielding form figures of 1-1-0-2-1-0. Last season ended on a downward trend but he was progressing nicely between May and July, running a number of good races to shoot up from a handicap mark of 80 to 90. It has come right down to 81 again and his last win was off 4lbs higher, so there’s no doubting he’s rated to be fully competitive.
How fit he’s going to be, I don’t know. His first run last season was poor and his second wasn’t much better, but he did win on reappearance in 2021 so can be readied. From a tactical point of view, Cuban Breeze should give him a nice lead and if he’s sharp enough to take over at some stage, he may be hard to beat. It does come down to fitness but not many of these are as talented if he’s on song.
16:40 Redcar – Lunar Jet – 1pt @ 17/2
Lunar Jet was one of my selections at the Lincoln meeting and showed enough to suggest that the fire still burns. He was no match for Don’t Look Back, who bolted up by six-lengths, but was just a short-head behind the second and that was despite being keen enough as a result of the slower early tempo. He still finished off well but would have wanted a more consistent pace, if not a much faster one.
Assuming no more non-runners from this point, there shouldn’t be any hanging around here and that will give him a better chance of getting into contention on time. He’s also being ridden by a fully-fledged rider having had a 7lb-claiming apprentice on board last time, and that’ll help too. His last win was over C&D (off 19lbs higher) and if he takes a little step forward, he can make his presence felt.
