Mudlahhim has regressed a long way from quite a reasonable level and he is what he is these days; not great! On the other hand, he’s bound to find one of these lowly All-Weather handicaps come his way and was in good form before he had a seven week break following a close Yarmouth fourth. His comeback run at Doncaster three days ago was poor but soft turf isn’t exactly his favoured surface.
All three of his wins have come on the All-Weather, the most recent being over C&D in a claimer, and he posted two good efforts to finish third in a couple of races here in May. He can be a bit of a keen-going lunatic on occasions but should get a tow from Magic Gem and if his fitness is where it needs to be after that return on Saturday, he will be in there pitching coming down to the closing stages.

19:00 Wolverhampton – Ebury – 1pt @ 11/1
Ebury never wins races so there are definitely some issues in siding with him! He’s down off a basement mark now, however, and a double-figured price looks generous enough if he could finally put everything together. His headgear is changing as well, blinkers replacing the cheekpieces worn the last twice, and that could be something to spark him into life on a track that does suit his style.
He ran a decent race over C&D last time as well, only beaten a few lengths into sixth, and didn’t help himself by going wide off the bend. With a draw in gate two this time around, I’m hoping he could get onto the fence and run a more efficient race. It could be wishful thinking on my part but the margins are small in these grades and it wouldn’t take a huge amount of improvement to get involved in this.
