James Bond Odds: Temple And Turner-Smith New Favourites For Moneypenny Role

There have been lots of changes to the James Bond film franchise in recent weeks, and fans are eagerly anticipating some casting news soon.
While we still don't know who will be taking over from Daniel Craig as the suave spy, there has been lots of speculation on the best betting sites about that and various other roles.
Amazon MGM Studios have taken over creative control of the movie series, and the company has appointed Denis Villeneuve as the next Bond film's director.
David Heyman, who produced all eight Harry Potter movies, and Amy Pascal - who was behind the three latest Spider-Man films - are new Bond producers.
Like 007, the character of Eve Moneypenny - previously known as Miss Moneypenny - is expected to be recast as part of the upcoming Bond shake-up.
Naomie Harris has played Eve Moneypenny for the last three movies, No Time to Die, Spectre and Skyfall, and if she doesn't reprise her role there will be no shortage of suitors.
Juno Or Jodie?
Ted Lasso actress Juno Temple is the new 11/10 favourite on betting apps to land the role of Moneypenny, after her starring role in the heart-warming football TV series.
Temple is also well known to Pascal, after appearing in her 2024 movie Venom: The Last Dance, which featured the likes of Tom Hardy and Stephen Graham, who are both outsiders for the 007 role.
Jodie Turner-Smith is also thought to be in contention to portray Moneypenny - and she has even been linked with playing the suave spy before.
Turner-Smith previously appeared on a Variety list of candidates to be the next Bond, and the publication went on to ask her about it.
James Bond Odds: Who Will Be The Next Moneypenny
Actor | Odds | Probability |
Juno Temple | 11/10 | 47.6% |
Jodie Turner-Smith | 5/4 | 44.4% |
Alison Oliver | 6/4 | 40% |
Meg Bellamy | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Kaya Scodelario | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Nicole Lecky | 3/1 | 25% |
Naomi Scott | 4/1 | 20% |
Ella Purnell | 9/2 | 18.2% |
Emma MacKay | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Naomie Harris | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Mandip Gill | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Mia McKenna-Bruce | 10/1 | 9.1% |
Speaking to Variety in 2022 about her place on the list, she said: "Somebody else said this to me. I never saw that, but that's so funny. I love that."
Asked if becoming Bond is a possibility, she laughed and didn't say either way.
If Turner-Smith doesn't become the next 007, she could have a shot at being Moneypenny.
The actress is 5/4 to take on the role and she is also no stranger to Heyman, after working alongside the producer on 2022 movie White Noise.
Good Evening, Miss Oliver
Alison Oliver is the new 6/4 third favourite to play Moneypenny, after she starred in Amazon's 2023 hit movie Saltburn.
At the time of writing, the actress is dating a potential new James Bond star in Challengers actor Josh O'Connor.
However, Josh could even lose out to one of Alison's former co-stars, Jacob Elordi, who she appeared alongside in Saltburn.
Other stars thought to be in contention to play Moneypenny include former favourite Meg Bellamy.
The Crown actress - who portrayed Kate Middleton in series six of the Netflix megahit - is a 2/1 shot to join the spy franchise as Moneypenny, and she has also been linked to a Bond girl role.
Kaya Scodelario is a 5/2 chance to be cast as the secretary in the next Bond movie.
The former Skins star enjoyed fantastic chemistry with one of the 007 favourites, Theo James, in Guy Ritchie's Netflix TV adaptation of The Gentlemen.
If James becomes Bond, so to speak, then Kaya's price to be Moneypenny - or potentially land a lead female role in the franchise - will no doubt decrease.
Lecky To Surge Onto Big Screen
British actresses Harris, Samantha Bond and Caroline Bliss have previously portrayed Moneypenny, as has Canadian actress Lois Maxwell, who starred as the character for the first 14 Bond movies.
One Brit who could get her big-screen break in the next Bond movie is Nicole Lecky.
The star is best known for appearing in Sky Atlantic drama Sweetpea, but she has strong connections at Bond HQ.
She has worked with both Pascal and Heyman on their upcoming coming-of-age comedy-drama movie Jay Kelly, which is due to drop in November.
The movie has a star-studded cast featuring the likes of George Clooney, Adam Sandler, Isla Fisher and Jim Broadbent.
Nicole is 3/1 to land the role of Moneypenny, and her Sweetpea co-star Ella Purnell - who played main character Rhiannon Lewis in the drama - is a 9/2 chance to nab the role ahead of her pal.
However, there is a possibility that a re-cast doesn't even happen.
Harris is a 6/1 shot to retain the role, a tad longer than Aladdin star Naomi Scott (4/1) and Sex Education's Emma Mackey (5/1) are to be the new Moneypenny.
