Gambling.com's NFL Power Rankings Entering Week 8

Despite falling to the Atlanta Falcons, the San Francisco 49ers return to the top of our power rankings, which are calculated on points, yards, first downs, touchdowns and turnovers.
That's why the 5-0 Vikings are 11th on our list. While they have the best defense in the league, their offense has struggled all season and are ranked 27th.

The Biggest Climbers
Bengals Bouncing Back With Burrow
The AFC North is one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL with all four teams sitting comfortably over .500 after seven weeks of the NFL season.
Despite having a 4-2 record, Joe Burrow and the Bengals are third, but a 35-point second half performance helped the secure back-to-back wins.
Burrow threw four touchdown passes to four different receivers last Sunday to help his side climb to fourth in our rankings.

JJ Has Giants Looking Good
JJ McCarthy has won his last five games in which he has started - four for the Vikings last year and the Giants' overtime win in Houston.
It takes a lot to succeed as a quarterback in New York and so far McCarthy is coping well and Big Blue now sit in a share of 14th this week.
They are one of the most balanced teams with a #16 ranked offense and a #15 ranked defense ahead of this weekend bye week.
Buccaneers Buoyed By Baker's Return
Baker Mayfield's return from a thumb injury couldn't have come any quicker for the Buccaneers - or gone any better as Tampa Bay racked up 43 points in a rout of the Panthers in Carolina.
Mayfield missed three games, but despite only throwing 11 passes, he led the Buccaneers to the most points scored last weekend.
Bucky Irving and Kenny Gainwell combined for 192 rushing yards on 38 carries, with Irving finding the end zone twice.

The Biggest Fallers
Cousins Can't Stop Raiders Slump
At 3-0, the Las Vegas Raiders were the talk of the NFL and questions were asked if they were the real deal. Four weeks and four losses later, we have our answer.
It's business as usual for the silver and black and questions are being asked if now is the time to start Fernando Mendoza - the number one overall pick.
A trip to the Jets awaits this weekend and another defeat would severely dent their fading play-off hopes.

Chiefs Have Point To Prove
In the glittering career of Patrick Mahomes, Sunday's 20-3 dismantling by the Seahawks in Seattle was the Chiefs' worst offensive performance.
It marked the end of their perfect start to the season and things don't get much easier this weekend when Kansas City travel to Denver for a potentially division decider.
The Chiefs fell five places to joint sixth and Mahomes will be keen to bounce back this weekend.

Panthers Let Down By Their Defense
Offensively, the Panthers have gone about their business quietly with Bryce Young putting up some very respectable numbers.
While their offense is ranked seventh, only eight teams have a defense ranked below Carolina, who take on the Packers in Green Bay on Thursday night.
Conceding 43 points to the Buccaneers should lead to a much improved performance on that side of the ball.
