Viktor Gyokeres Next Club Odds: Arsenal In Driving Seat To Sign Sporting Striker

Viktor Gyokeres looks to be heading back to England this summer, but which Premier League team could he be playing for this season?
Arsenal are the hot favourites to sign the prolific Swedish striker, according to betting sites, although there are a number of other clubs in the running.
The relationship between Gyokeres and his current club, Sporting Lisbon, has turned sour, after the Portuguese champions performed a U-turn on a gentleman's agreement that he would be sold for less than the £85.4m release clause.
Reports suggest the 27-year-old forward is prepared to go on strike unless the club back down.
The former Coventry frontman has been a revelation since moving to Portugal in 2023.
In 102 appearances for Sporting, Gyokeres has scored 97 goals, establishing himself as one of the deadliest marksmen in European football. Unsurprisingly, he has many suitors across the continent.
Where will he be plying his trade at the beginning of the 2025/26 campaign if an agreement between the player and his club can be met?
Let’s take a look at some of the leading contenders for his signature, according to betting apps.
Will Arsenal Finally Land A Number Nine?
Arsenal are in desperate need of a number nine before the season starts and it appears Gyokeres is top of their wish list.
The Gunners are reportedly holding talks with both Gyokeres and RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko in an attempt to bring one of them to the Emirates this summer.
Gyokeres has apparently made it clear he wants to join Arsenal, who may make a decision based on which of the two strikers represents the best value.
The representatives of Gyokeres were in Portugal this week for showdown talks with Sporting in a bid to break the impasse, but nothing has been agreed.
As it stands, Arsenal are 4/9 favourites with football betting sites to land the Sweden international this summer.

Reunion With Ruben?
Manchester United are embarking on yet another rebuild following their worst season for decades, and a new striker is essential given Rasmus Hojlund’s struggles and the persistent doubts over Joshua Zirkzee.
Ruben Amorim worked with Gyokeres at Sporting and would no doubt welcome a reunion, but does the Swede feel the same?
Very few players have advanced their careers after moving to Old Trafford in recent years and Gyokeres is thought to prefer a move to a Champions League club.
The Red Devils were 5/2 in the market, but Gyokeres' supposed preference for a move to the Emirates means their odds have lengthened to 4/1.
Liverpool To Splash More Cash?
After a quiet summer last time out, Liverpool have wasted little time in splashing the cash this year.
The Reds have already spent at least £170 million on Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, but they are still keen to add a striker.
That shows Liverpool are willing to back Arne Slot following their title success, and a potential move for Gyokeres would bring their spending well past the £200 million mark.
A question mark hangs over the future of Darwin Nunez, who has been heavily linked with a move to Napoli, so the Reds will need a replacement should the Uruguayan head to Italy.
Having been 20/1 to sign the Sporting star, Liverpool's odds have been cut to 7/1 with William Hill.
Swede Top Of Atleti's Shopping List
If reports are to be believed, Atletico Madrid have made the Sweden international a top priority as they look to overhaul their attacking options this summer.
Diego Simeone wants Gyokeres to be a key part of his forward line next season alongside Antoine Griezmann and Julian Alvarez.
Atleti will be hoping that more money from qualifying for the Champions League will help finance the move.
Gyokeres is 16/1 to sign for Atletico this summer, although he is available at 8/1 to join any Saudi club.
Italian Job With Juve?
Juventus (28/1) are credited with a long-standing interest in Gyokeres, but they could be priced out of a potential move.
Sporting were reportedly willing to accept a fee close to £70 million, but things have changed, and Juve may be unable to afford his release clause fee.
There is also the question of whether Gyokeres would be willing to join the Italians, who are not competing for top honours.
Indeed, Juventus finished fourth in Serie A last season and have struggled to make an impact in the Champions League for several years.
Napoli Look To Build On Title Triumph
Napoli (28/1) edged out Inter Milan in the Serie A title race last season and they hope to strengthen their squad further under Antonio Conte.
The Italian had hinted he may leave after just one year at the helm, but it has been confirmed the former Chelsea and Tottenham manager is staying at the club.
However, there could be changes in the attacking department.
Romelu Lukaku led the line in their title-winning campaign, but Gyokeres would represent an upgrade at this stage of the Belgian’s career.
However, if the English elite show a serious interest in Gyokeres, it will be hard for Napoli to match their wage offers.
PSG Outsiders To Sign Swede
Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain (28/1) would be a tempting destination for the Sporting man, but there other Premier League clubs in the conversation.
Tottenham and Newcastle are priced at 40/1, the same odds as Chelsea who have already signed two strikers this summer: Liam Delap and Joao Pedro from Ipswich and Brighton respectively.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also 40/1 to sign Gyokeres.
