Sean O'Keefe: Galopin Des Champs To Create Gold Cup History

And so, the final day is upon us.

The week has gone by quickly, but I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Getting another Festival win under my belt was special, and some of my big-priced rides also ran crackers.

Like everyone else, I witnessed dramatic moments and fantastic performances, including Fact To File's win in yesterday's Ryanair.

Today is all about Gallopin Des Champs, but I also need to concentrate on another exciting bunch of rides to round out the week.

Galopin Des Champs Should Make It Three In A Row

The Gold Cup is obviously all about Galopin Des Champs chasing a hat-trick in the race.

I was very lucky to win the Martin Pipe Hurdle, so he is a very special horse to me.

I am very confident that he can join the record books this year, as he looks as good as ever.

There doesn't seem to be any other horse in the field that will be good enough to beat him, although we have heard that a lot about other horses this week!

Barring a mishap or more unexpected drama, he should win.

He is an amazing horse.

Lulamba Can Change Henderson's Fortunes

The Triumph Hurdle is a race I look forward to each year.

You get to see a raft of young horses, some of which are likely to go on and achieve big things in the future.

This year I think Lulamba could be something special.

Nicky Henderson deserves a change of luck after Constitution Hill and Jonbon, and he may get it here.

This is a very good horse and comes with a high reputation.

East India Dock is obviously another high-class horse, but Lulamba is going to be very hard to beat.

My Rides On Day Four

13:20 Triumph Hurdle - Charlus

I will be taking on Lulamba and East India Dock in the Triumph Hurdle on Charlus.

It will be a big challenge for us, but he is a nice horse.

He was talented on the flat in France and won at Naas on his debut over hurdles.

That should result in a good deal of improvement, and I'm hoping that he has a chance of making the places.

14:00 County Handicap Hurdle - Daddy Long Legs

I ride Daddy Long Legs in the County Hurdle, and many consider him an outsider.

He ran a cracking race behind State Man in the Irish Champion Hurdle, so I am confident of a big run.

Dropping back into a handicap will make life easier, although he will have to carry top weight.

He is a high-class horse on his day and if things fall right for him, I can see him running a big race.

15:20 Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle - Fishery Lane

Fishery Lane won his maiden hurdle nicely at Fairyhouse over two and a half miles last time.

Stepping up in trip again here should suit as he looks like an out-and-out stayer.

He was fifth in the Champion Bumper here last year, so he has course form, which is important.

Although he is another likely to be a big price, I can see him outrunning his odds.
