Flutter and Entain Report Mixed Brazil Results in Q2 2026

Flutter Entertainment and Entain both reported softer Brazilian trading in their latest results, with each operator pointing to a more competitive and increasingly regulated market as the World Cup quarter played out.
Flutter's Brazil revenue rose 64% year on year to $72 million (47% at constant currency) for the three months to June 30, 2026, according to the company's own Q2 2026 financial results, published August 5, 2026.
That headline growth was driven entirely by the Betnacional acquisition, completed mid-way through Q2 2025. Stripped of that deal, Flutter's organic Brazil revenue fell 14% and average monthly players declined 6%.
Flutter said the news comes as it continues to build out its online casino offering across international markets, with Brazil the largest single test of that strategy in a newly regulated Latin American market.
Flutter Cites Regulatory Slowdown And Platform Migration
Flutter said the organic decline reflected "a slowdown in the Brazilian online market, driven by government socio-economic measures including the launch of a centralized self-exclusion register."
The company also completed a key integration milestone in May, moving its own product and pricing technology onto the Brazil platform, a change that caused a temporary dip in customer engagement.
"While this led to a temporary decline in engagement as customers adapted to the new user experience, we saw encouraging early signs, including a five-fold increase in BetBuilder penetration in May," the company said in its results statement.
Flutter added that it still views Brazil as "a highly attractive growth market" and remains "committed to building a market-leading platform" there.
Entain's Brazil NGR Down 25% In H1
Entain's own 2026 Interim Results, published August 13, 2026, showed Brazil net gaming revenue down 25% at constant currency for the first half of the year.
Entain attributed the fall to "highly adverse Q1 sports margin," though it said player metrics, including sports wagers, improved through the half, up 10% at constant currency.
Group-wide, Entain's H1 net gaming revenue grew 5% at constant currency to £2,545.3 million, with underlying EBITDA of £479.3 million, down 2% year on year.
Chief executive Stella David said in the results statement that Entain maintained its Brazil market share "in an intensely competitive market," supported by "disciplined engagement and marketing particularly around the World Cup."
World Cup Provided A Boost Elsewhere In The Region
Both operators used the same reporting window to highlight stronger performances elsewhere. Flutter's UKI division grew Q2 revenue 4%, while its SEA business, powered by Sisal and Snai in Italy, grew 36%.
Entain, meanwhile, posted UK and Ireland online net gaming revenue growth of 13% at constant currency and said Australia grew 13%, alongside double-digit online growth in Canada, New Zealand and Spain.
Both companies said Brazil's regulatory environment, tightened since the market's licensing regime took effect in 2025, remains the key variable for growth there.
Flutter's next scheduled update is its Q3 2026 report, while Entain's full-year guidance, reiterated in its interim results, still points to group underlying EBITDA of £910 million to £960 million for 2026.
The diverging Brazil numbers underline how quickly a newly regulated market can swing operator strategy, even for groups posting solid growth everywhere else.
