Grosvenor Casino Stoke Adds 30 New Slots After Regulatory Changes

The popular Grosvenor Casino in Stoke-on-Trent has added 30 new slot machines to its casino floor.
The Hanley-based venue has more than doubled its machine count and now has 50 games in its 24-hour casino.
On the expansion, Grosvenor Casino Stoke’s General Manager, Tracey Brown, said: “We’re thrilled to have enhanced our gaming offer here in Stoke-on-Trent. This investment demonstrates our continued commitment to provide cutting-edge gaming options for our players.
“I’m so proud of the elevated player experience we can offer – there's nothing better than seeing someone walk away with one of the £20,000 jackpots.
"It always creates such a brilliant atmosphere. Our casino remains a vibrant destination for everyone – from new players to loyal customers – to enjoy the very best gaming in the city.”
Gambling Act 2005 Update
The expansion of the site’s gaming portfolio was made possible by the government’s decision to increase the number of machines permitted in land-based casinos.
The changes were made as part of the 2025 reforms to the Gambling Act 2005.
Grosvenor Casino Stoke is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Until recently, it had 20 slot machines and around 10 live table games.
Under previous provisions, casinos were allowed up to 30 slots with a ratio of 2:1 gaming machines to table games, which meant the venue’s machine count was restricted by the number of live table games it offered.
However, in 2025, the Labour government introduced changes, initiated by the previous government, to the Gambling Act 2005.
These changes increased the maximum number of machines to 80 and increased the ratio of machines to table games to 5:1.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport said the changes will facilitate an improved financial recovery for the industry, which was struggling to attract customers back after the Covid lockdowns, while enabling retail casinos to remain competitive with online casinos.
Many iGaming websites offer thousands of different slot machine titles without the same space or regulatory restraints.
Rank Group Performance

According to the group’s most recent financial report, Rank Group posted £419.8m of operating revenue in the second half of 2025.
