Pennsylvania iGaming Jump Leads To $590.6m January Gaming Revenue

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has published gaming revenue figures for January.

The Keystone State generated $590.6million across all verticals, representing an 11.6% increase compared to 2025.

Sports betting saw a significant 38.63% jump, despite a lower handle, while online slots generated more than $35m more than last year.

The continued strength of digital play reflects sustained demand for the best online slots available to players in the regulated market.

Despite a bumper iGaming month, overall gaming revenue fell 4.2% short of the monthly record set in December.

Retail Casino Revenue

The state’s 17 retail casinos generated $189.1m from slot machines – a slight annual increase of 0.67%.

Despite having the highest slot revenue at $29.2m, Parx Casino figures dipped 2.47% compared to 2025.

Parx Shippensburg, on the other hand, saw the most significant movement in the sector, with its slot revenue jumping 14.73% to $3.3m for the month.

"As expected, the majority of this ($195m) came from online slots."

Table game revenue posted greater January gains. Monthly revenue was $75.8m, up 2.8% from $73.7m in January 2025.

Wind Creek Bethlehem had the highest table game revenue, at $21.2m, up 8.94%. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows saw the biggest improvement, with revenue up 28.2% to $1.9m.

This month, Parx Shippenburg Casino announced it has received formal approval to add proper table games to its venue.

Previously, the casino has only offered slots and hybrid gaming tables. Its inclusion of 12 live table games means every retail casino in the state can now offer traditional table games.

Pennsylvania iGaming Revenue

The state’s 12 online casinos enjoyed a highly profitable month, generating $249.3m of revenue – an increase of 18.62% from January 2025.

The figures further reinforce Pennsylvania’s reputation as one of the most competitive markets for the best online casinos in the US.

As expected, the majority of this ($195m) came from online slots. $52m was generated from online table games, with poker raising $2.5m.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course saw the most online action in January. It generated $96.2m in revenue, an impressive 20.71% increase.

However, it was Presque Isle Downs and Casino that posted the biggest improvement. Its revenue was up 178.24% to $5.4m, from $1.9m last year.

Only two of the state’s online casinos saw revenue decline. Mount Airy Casino Resort’s revenue was down 40.62% to $2.2m, while Live! Casino Philadelphia’s revenue fell 58.46% to $1.6m.

Sports Betting And Other Gambling

Sports betting accounts for only a small share of the Pennsylvania gambling market, and it posted mixed results in January.

The handle for the month was 10.39% lower than in 2025. This reduction was expected – while 2025 saw the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, there was no home team representation in this year’s event.

Last year, sports betting in the state saw a record $101.5m of Super Bowl revenue. This year, the figure was only $59.2m.

Despite the drop in handle, though, revenue was 38.63% higher than the previous year, at $71.4m.

Video Gaming Terminals posted a 0.56% increase in revenue to $3.2m, while fantasy contests saw a drop of 29.92% to $1.9m.

In January, casinos and other gambling entities generated $250m in tax revenue.
